I'm pretty sure they are two stage. All the engines I've seen have a volume/pressure switch.

Here's the other new rig.  This was headed out the door this afternoon to go in service.

I missed catching E194 before it went into service, so I'll have to wait until it's back at the shop for PM work.
In the meantime, here is Ladder 191's new rig.  It won't be in service for a couple of weeks.  The crews are doing training on it this week.

Denmark-based Falck and Nevada-based Community Ambulance have submitted applications to the Arizona DHS seeking a 'Certificate of Necessity' to operate ambulance services in Maricopa County.

Fleet Replacement Program
Funding in the amount of $20 million is included in the MICLA
financing program for the replacement of 106 fire apparatus as part of the Fleet Replacement Program. Vehicle types and quantities eligible for replacement are listed below:
-Aerial Ladder trucks (Four)
-Triple combination pumpers (Eight) -Emergency command vehicles (Five) -Ambulances (14)
-Fleet utility service truck (One) -Emergency Sedans (10)
-Crew cab pick-up trucks (11) -Non-emergency electric sedans (15) -Non-emergency sedans (28)
-EMS battalion command vehicles (Four) -Arson utility vehicles (Two)
-Side load cargo vans (Two) -Passenger van (One)
-Helicopter auxiliary power unit (One) 

Interesting.
AMR just started brand-new "from scratch" service here in the Metro NY area this week.  They already have operations in Upstate NY, but those were former Rural/Metro operations that they acquired when they bought them out.
AMR has pulled out of the Metro NY area twice in the past several years.....they came in, like they always do,  assuming they can gobble up all the smaller companies and competition, and in turn get the contracts, but it didn't work out for them.
It will be very interesting to see how this works out if Envision decides to sell the operation.
 

Envision Healthcare is currently accepting bids from companies that are interested in acquiring American Medical Response. The first round of bids should to be completed this month. Additional bidding rounds could take place over the next couple of months. Envision hopes to close on the sale of AMR by the end of this year. It will be interesting to see if AMR is sold in whole, or sold off in chunks.

Saw Haz Mat 150 new tractor on a flat bed heading south a week ago. Any word on USAR going into service?

CHP Academy. 3500 Reed Ave, West Sacramento. If you do a Google satellite view for that address you can see hundreds of patrol cars on the east side of the property.

Ya, talking to a few members there are some things that will take getting use to, can space is great, most of the compartments are well thought out, captains seat is a little small but for the most part the crews are happy with them, we'll have to give it some time to see how well they hold up and perform.

I wonder why the ladder is set back like that? I'm wondering if it's a 75' placed on a chassis designed for a 100', maybe for weight reasons?

I didn't realize county was still ordering rear mounts. Found this new pic of quint 116 in Carson from code2high. From looks of it, 2016/2017 model got same led flood light bar as new tractors for usar and hazmat. After seeing pics of station size I see why. I would if they are ordering or order more than just one?

I would love to see a photo of a Houston TDA. I'm not aware of Houston having owned a TDA in at least 30+ years. All rear mount aerials and platforms..

The first LAFD Pierce TDA, grey ladder, was spotted in Wisconsin 6 days ago.  

Doesn't sound like first truck is going in service anytime soon.  Talked to a supervisor at the shops and there is still a long warranty list of items for Pierce to fix.  Also sounds like there are issues will compartment doors not sealing properly.  They said that this first truck was delivered to south coast back in December.  Going on six months now?
