    Howdy folks!
Saw new Vista's New T126 via YT and looks sweet. Dunno if the Stuphen Tower will go into reserve or if the FD is keeping it at 125s as a second truck company.
    Enjoy!

LVFD was all red in the 60s-and 70s ,  by the 90 I believe they were running white and Gold.  then they went red.
The dice have been around as a part of the door logo since at least the 70s
They were Seagrave customers , then ALF, then Superior , then and now Pierce and most recently Sparten

My understanding is, Ventura St 26 is going to be moved closer to Santa Paula and SP St 81 will become St 29 i think. Closing Santa Paula St82.

If I recall, I remember reading a few years ago, the pics are shot next to one of the buildings and in the background they had parts on pallets and such.  Photoshop can be your best friend.

Correct, From what was discussed after the fire, the new station is just around the corner from the old station.

E2 is supposed to be a new company. Additionally USAR4 is moving to Station 2 once it is open.

Do you mean to the empty lot on La Palma between the Elementary School and Western? Just Curious. Thanks

yes, it was a land swap with knotts, they will give ocfa the land on la palma in exchange for the land where 61 now sits

ok guys, for anyone who has never worked on an apparatus committee. the delivery date given is not set in stone there are a lot of factors that come into play , such as part shortages, production delays, holidays and workload. you don't need to be a genious to know that pierce is a very popular apparatus maker, not just here in so-cal but across the country.  when you factor in delays in Appleton,  then the rigs need to be driven cross country to so -cal and delivered to south coast in Ontario , where the warrenty work is done, if you've never been to south coast , they have around 30-40 rigs there from across so-cal at any given time for all kinds of work. the new rigs have to be worked into the service bays as they become available along with the already in service rigs there for dealer work. once the dealer completes their work the rigs are delivered to la city shops, to be prepped,  training, radio's and this all has to be done , while the shop mechanics must continue to work on the other units there to get them completed and back in service. all this can back up an in-service time as much as a few months.

The only specialized piece I see listed is this.

    51. Replacement Helicopter - - - Funding in the amount of $18.041 million is included in the Municipal Improvement Corporation of Los Angeles (MICLA) financing program to purchase one Augusta AW 139 helicopter. This will enable the Department to retire one Bell 412 helicopter which has exceeded its useful life

As to USARs, Squads, etc  unknown as to if they are due to be replaced.

Here is the link for additional info.

Hello, it's been a while since I've been on this site. It looks vastly different. My old handle on EMT Bravo was LAFD Engineer.  I got an email through my flickr page from one of you regarding the Super Station as I am assigned to FS51. All I can tell you at this moment Is the Super Station is only in preliminary stages. There are many configurations being explored due to the long range plans of the airport. I can't get into detail which is which but stuff is in planning stages only. It's kind of an exiting time for all as we are seeing the changes around us. I've there since 2007 and I can't count the changes, too many.  What I can tell you is six new ARFF rigs from Rosenbauer have been ordered and are on their way. First four by November, and the last two by Feb 2016.  All the ARFF rigs at 80's being replaced, one in reserve, and one slated to go to 51's staffed by one engineer and one firefighter. The 51's ARFF rig is tentative at this moment. LAWA owns the ARFF apparatus not the LAFD so the fate of the E-Ones is unclear. The Oshkosh is slated to go to Van Nuys Airport.

I was hoping you could find out which went to each department.

I assume that the 25 are all going in to service shortly. Will be a great help this fire season
given the drought conditions in CA.

I recall reading a blurb somewhere that I can't find right now, that Copter 17 was overhauled late '13 or early '14ish. They had planned to get it repainted when it returned from overhaul, but they needed to put it into service sooner than that due to major fires at the time.

For those members who are interested; the Pulse Point App now covers the LAFD Bureaus.  The App has been updated to allow up to four areas to watch.  It is available for iOS or Android.

My apologies, but my suggestion still stands as to your writing the next permanent Chief as to your concerns about the lack of Towers/Platforms etc.
  24. Monrovia1 liked a post in a topic by Casey in What's New For Phoenix?
    Firepost,
Unless I'm not reading it correctly, FF Taylor fell through the roof, and not off the ladder due to a ladder pipe malfunction. The site is run by a LAFD member and not a buff. If you are so "concerned" about the lack of Snorkles, Towers etc, write the new chief when they are appointed and get the official answer to your concerns.

As a side note, the arsonist was up for parole earlier this year, and again was denied
    Respectfully submitted,
