Truck 7675 is San Miguel ' s FPD Truck Co.

Good questions 'mesabill'.  Hope all is well.  Chatter i heard was El Cajon FD was looking for ways to reduce the medical aid runs T6 was doing, due to the wear-and-tear and all those apartment building entries the truck was doing.  I suspect T6 still has the rescue capacity, though I am not sure if "heavy rescue".  It seemed T6 just went back into service recently while La Mesa T11 seems out of service in the past week.   As you know, RE-12 out of La Mesa is rolling on many Heartland F&R rescues.  The guys down at SDFR station 4's (downtown), told me they are very impressed with the amount of rescue gear Heartland RE12 is equipped with.   Since Santee retired R5 with no intention to place another rescue box there, El Cajon no longer has a dedicated rescue, and La Mesa does not, it seems Heartland could use a rescue rig, if not heavy rescue or even "USAR".  A recent article in Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment discussed that the trend is many departments were going to trucks and rescue-pumpers for such rescue resources, but more departments are rethinking this and many going back to dedicated rescue rigs, many with small pumps/tanks.
Back to Truck 6 getting all worn out (too early), they did inhibit the all-steer system on the truck a while ago, which caused a few dents here and there, and do not know if that was just ECFD, or a Pierce directive.  My recommendation to the BC of ECFD was take that Ford pick-up (4 man cab) housed at station 9's (it was the former B3), put it at 6's, and use that as a "squad" to run all the MED AIDS that T6 rolls out on.  But the philosophy of the department is to roll the truck on MED AIDS to assure the truck can respond on any structures/rescues without having the FF's go back to fetch the truck.  I disagree with that philosophy, respectfully.

San Miguel is scheduled to go back to a stand-alone District in July or so. They opted to leave the numbers as is until that occurs. It would be a waste of money to change the identifiers on the vehicles just to change them again in a few months.

Maybe San Miguel will merge soon with San Manual.

Calfire renumbered all the Schedule A and contract agency equipment. Station numbers mostly stayed the same but they now use numbers matching the station. 7316 became Engine 36, 7810 is now Engine 80, etc. Second unit of same type out of the station is 200 series, 3rd is 300 series, etc. Battalion 7808 is now just Battalion 8. This mirrors the same system Calfire-Riverside County utilizes, and that is no coincidence. The San Diego Unit Chief and at least one of the two ECC Battalion Chiefs all came from Riverside.

I wonder if Heartland and Cities involved  are getting volume deal from Pierce for the standard engines, With 4 now in place, I wonder also if they might be replacing E13, E210, And possibly E7 and E9 in near future which would make a deal like that work

    From Heartland's instagram.
"Heartland Fire & Rescue takes pride in having the most up to date equipment and apparatus. This new @piercemfg engine will proudly serve the city of la mesa after the first of the year."

2203 is suppose to be up while FS204 is being renovated. The 4s are moving into temporary quarters. If that crew is needed else where (as usual), that engine is taken out of service.

2205 is up when rovers are available to staff it. I believe only 1 spot can be overtime, but I've only seen that a couple times. They'll usually just 5 man other trucks.

I believe in the incident command system  a rescue is now classified as a rescue ambulance and a heavy rescue is now a usar , with a designation  of type 1 heavy or type 2 medium

the answer for the Scottdale Ladders is:  Scottsdale moved them around a while back for better coverage, Ladder 602 is a dry tower downtown with Engine 602, L603 was moved to Station 606 as a stand alone company (tower quint and LT), L604 was moved north to 616 also stand alone (75' quint) and L611 stayed in place. Also technically Mesa now has six ladder companies if you inc. LT220 (201, 204, 206, 209, 214 all 85' tower quints). Ladder Tender 220 running a Engine with extra gear.

Here in Phoenix Metro almost all frontline Ladder Companies are Tower Ladders, Phoenix runs 14 Ladder Co.'s 13 are towers and one bronto, all 5 Mesa Ladder Co.'s are 85' towers. The few straight ladders are Buckeye L703, AJ L264, Scottsdale L611 and L616 and a few reserve/spare ladders. Tucson is a Mix, couple towers and several rear mounts, Buckeye L703 only frontline tiller.
