    It could be “Construction 4” which is with a dozer unit.

    I know when LA City Fire installed them on their apparatus, the light stick control head had a selector switch to choose high or low, along with a directional selector. This was for night time responses. The original light stick installed were turned on separately from the master switch. Now, it turns on with the master switch.

    25252 & 25252.5 of the CA Vehicle Code address emergency lights. ie. steady burning red to the front visible at 1000 feet. Then any combo of lights for side & rear.

    I know for my entire career (31 years) the mechanics have always taken a beating trying to keep the equipment on the streets. Rsqfxr, i can assume you may be a mechanic and I want to thank you for your hard word and dedication. It is the gold badges as well as the bean counters who try to do more with less.

    Fleet Replacement Program
    Funding in the amount of $20 million is included in the MICLA
    financing program for the replacement of 106 fire apparatus as part of the Fleet Replacement Program. Vehicle types and quantities eligible for replacement are listed below:
    -Aerial Ladder trucks (Four)
    -Triple combination pumpers (Eight) -Emergency command vehicles (Five) -Ambulances (14)
    -Fleet utility service truck (One) -Emergency Sedans (10)
    -Crew cab pick-up trucks (11) -Non-emergency electric sedans (15) -Non-emergency sedans (28)
    -EMS battalion command vehicles (Four) -Arson utility vehicles (Two)
    -Side load cargo vans (Two) -Passenger van (One)
    -Helicopter auxiliary power unit (One)
