WT40 is the newer of the three, but all are almost identical.

That engine is a one of a kind 1996 Ford Cargo Model-11. Similar look to the Mack Model 9. The big giveaway is no crew cab. The entire 3 person crew sits in the front seat "Three Amigos" style. Was assigned to Tehama Glenn Unit. Sold in 2014.

HTL2 is just a fictitious unit to prevent the call from closing when the last unit is cleared off. MH1,2,3, etc. is a fictitious unit ID that indicates an AMR medic unit is to respond. The abbreviation MH is a holdover from the old days when the ambulance service was provided by Hartson Ambulance. MH originally stood for "Medic Hartson".

E2 is supposed to be a new company. Additionally USAR4 is moving to Station 2 once it is open.

CHP Academy. 3500 Reed Ave, West Sacramento. If you do a Google satellite view for that address you can see hundreds of patrol cars on the east side of the property.

I would love to see a photo of a Houston TDA. I'm not aware of Houston having owned a TDA in at least 30+ years. All rear mount aerials and platforms..

Engine 141? The North Zone must be changing unit numbering to a 3-digit system.

Last week,  I had the opportunity to check out the new LAFD Heavy Rescue 56. What an impressive rig!!
2016 Peterbilt 567  with a Century 50 Ton Rotator (can be remote controlled) and body, 10KW generator, and air compressor syste,m, amongst many other customizations.
This rig replaces a similar rig, a 2003 Peterbilt/Century, which will become a fully equipped spare. The spare is replacing the former spare, which will be kept in the USAR caches.
Thanks again to the crew at Station 56 and the HR56 guys!

Funny title. Lifeguards are part of San Diego Fire-Rescue. The headline should read that they are at odds with their Chief.

San Miguel is scheduled to go back to a stand-alone District in July or so. They opted to leave the numbers as is until that occurs. It would be a waste of money to change the identifiers on the vehicles just to change them again in a few months.

Calfire renumbered all the Schedule A and contract agency equipment. Station numbers mostly stayed the same but they now use numbers matching the station. 7316 became Engine 36, 7810 is now Engine 80, etc. Second unit of same type out of the station is 200 series, 3rd is 300 series, etc. Battalion 7808 is now just Battalion 8. This mirrors the same system Calfire-Riverside County utilizes, and that is no coincidence. The San Diego Unit Chief and at least one of the two ECC Battalion Chiefs all came from Riverside.
