Posted August 7, 2018 Yeah I wasnt quite sure on the foam staffing or the peak time rescue hours. Speaking of ARFF, I have wondered why there is no foam rig at Deer Valley. That airport seems quite busy.

Posted September 1, 2018 Rescue 19 and 29 are PLS units. What is PLS?
Posted September 2, 2018 Paramedic Life Support....so these units only have 1 paramedic. To be considered ALS in the valley trucks are supposed to have at least 2 paramedics of the 4 members. I want to say that it's an NFPA recommendation as well, or at least will be coming up. FFEMTStreet and RFRD like this
Posted September 2, 2018 Never seen that term used before. In Ohio ALS is used to refer to any truck that is staffed by at least 1 Paramedic or 1 Advanced EMT.
Posted September 3, 2018 I’ve never hear of PLS either.
Posted September 4, 2018 in California they are refered to as paramedic assessment units, which means at least 1 member of the crew is paramedic certified, and the rig carries the basic paramedic equipment, in which that medic can start to render als care until arrival of a full paramedic unit with 2 paramedics
