The Harbor PD fire boats are (or were) Marine 1, Marine 2, etc....

The SDFR fireboats, operates by the Lifeguards and stationed at Quivira Point, are refered to as Marine 1 and 2. I’m not positive about the Harbor Police boats but I thought one came up on the air as “Marine 4” during this incident.

    B53 is Coronado's Battalion Chief.

Fire 1 and Fire 2 I believe is SDFD's Fire Chief and Assistant Chief. Unless something changed, that's what I knew them as.

True. Fire 3 is also an Assistant Chief.

And B57R is simply added to send the call to the rear MDC in B57 vehicle. Not a real unit. Just a workaround.

It did say 6 aerials in the 25MM budget, so you have listed 11,14,21,40, 44

Where did the sixth RM get assigned?

I assume that the old 90s aerials(spares) will be sold,if not gone already

Are they carried as 2017, or 2016?

T45 gets the 6th one. It is still being outfitted. Should be ready soon.

    All 6 aerials are 2017.

The 95-97 Saulsbury service aerials will be gone very soon.

Only 6 Salisbury engines remain in service. One reserve and 5 training engines. Those should all be replaced within the next couple months.

I drove by Heartland HTF on Marshall Avenue Saturday morning and what appeared to be a Spartan/Smeal in similar colors to what I would say is Lakeside FD, was at the training facility and it had an engine 31 marking on it, unless I saw it wrong.  I am not aware of any station 31's in East County.  Any clues?

Coronado FD was seen running their medic rig (M36) recently, and it was a Navistar heavy duty chassis and I could almost swear it had the same colors as the former El Cajon medics 6/8/9.  I saw activity on one of those former medic rigs and it was appeared being prepped as a rehab unit.  I thought I saw another one of the same type medic rigs being worked on down on, I wanna say, Greenfield not far from 2nd Street.  Wondering if Coronado picked-up one of those rigs that might have been lower mileage as I believe their Ford they were using as M36 had seen its days.

Coronado is leasing one of the El Cajon Medic rigs temporarily until a new vehicle is delivered.

  5. HTL2 is just a fictitious unit to prevent the call from closing when the last unit is cleared off. MH1,2,3, etc. is a fictitious unit ID that indicates an AMR medic unit is to respond. The abbreviation MH is a holdover from the old days when the ambulance service was provided by Hartson Ambulance. MH originally stood for "Medic Hartson".

These are not LAFD bought type 3 engines. They are CAL OES engines supplied to LAFD. They can be used by LAFD for free for day to day use (restrictions apply) but must be staffed by LAFD for strike team assignments when called upon by OES.

edit: maybe I am wrong but if I had to guess, I still think they are CAL OES engines.

Not the one in the video. That is an LAFD purchased vehicle. Guaranteed.

many fire departments including mine are complaining that the system is not working as it was intended. it is not intended to be a fire scanner, many people who have the app, who don't work in the fire service are disableing it because they are getting 10-15 sometimes more alerts for non ems incidents in a hour. john q public does not care about building fires, vegetation fires or any fires at all. the site was intended to notify a person trained in cpr or first aid of a medical aid needing rapid assistance prior to the arrival of medical personel

All the user has to do is disable those undesired call type notifications in the settings. Problem solved.

Not trying to start an argument, but I can say with 100% confidence that it is a mechanical siren.

Just checked the Pierce parts catalog for that vehicle and you are 100% correct.

Rural Metro ambulances are being rebranded with the AMR name and graphics. It's probably underway in San Diego already. Who knows what will happen if and when AMR is sold. Their future is fuzzy at the moment.

The San Diego Rural Metro rigs are already rebranded to AMR.
