Howdy all!
A Buddy of mine was curious about the designation 21R1 on the radio from North Comm (Oceanside Fire)
I never heard of that number before the only Rescue that the FD has is Rescue 2199
(Wich is a mid 80s GMC/SVI rescue truck)
Any ideas?
Thanks!
No such unit. However you may see a fictitious unit 21R1 attached to calls on the PulsePoint app that serves some unknown to me purpose.
Rescue 2199 was sold quite awhile back. No rescue unit in Oceanside any longer.

For MVU dispatched agencies...not entirely complete as far as units...but station numbers should be accurate. Calfire Schedule B stations not included.

Pierce this posted these pics of two of the new rigs:
Those are for the San Diego County Fire Authority .

Squad 55 was formerly assigned to ERT1. It is a Ford F450 with an Air-Kwik light firefighting system. Has a small amount of water and foam. Basic firefighting handtools. ALS medical gear. Crew of 2.
-
Truck 44 is now assigned Apparatus 1931. Truck 35 is now assigned 1933.
-
Squad 55 is staffed from 0800-2000 with one Captain and 1 FF, one of which must be a medic.
It is quartered at a temporary station near Imperial and 55th.
The unit was first in to a structure fire today in 32's area.
-
Good info. I suspect T35 was assigned Truck 12's old rig.

For clarification this was a Monterey Park engine and an Alhambra truck.

The rescue on the Ferrara website that I believe you are referring to is Rescue 7386 out of Jamul.

And SDFD cannot bid on it because they helped craft the RFP.
-
It is individual agency policy. I'm not aware of a state law that dictates that.
-
-
Still the temp station.
-
Yes. The new foam unit is quartered at Station 45 in Mission Valley, which if you think about it is a good location given its proximity to the tank farms. Over the years the few working fires the foam rig has responded to have been right there on Friars Rd or close to it.
-
In service. Just ran a structure fire.
-
Not sure how current this is but I think it is close.
