Posted August 28, 2015 I think this will be the 1st time they had type 1 's, In 1985 PFD started their ambulance operation using Ford/Collins Type II rigs and then sometime in the 1990s they made the switched to Type 1's. Posted August 29, 2015 It seems a lot of the new Chevy rescues are of OS a lot, I see them using more spares then front line cars I think they should have looked at Braun, PL Customs, Wheeled Coach, Road Rescue, Horton or Braun Northwest on Ford F-350 or F550 heavy duty chassis or type 3's Ford Transit chassis well maybe after Dodge/Demers Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

You can have a great chassis and motor but the body can be a POS. Or the opposite. In the case of the Taylor Made's they had years ago, the pickup chassis and body were junk. I don't recall any of the top builders winning a PFD ambulance bid in the past. Btw, none of the builders are offering Ford Transit-based Type 3's yet. The GVW rating is lower than the Ford E-450 cutaway Type 3 chassis. Crestline will have a Transit Type 3 prototype on display at EMS Expo in Las Vegas next month. Posted August 29, 2015 (edited) I worked for a private ambulance & I was a fire FF years, I drove & worked in the back of many rigs, both gas & diesel My experience with the Dodge's & Chevy's are they r POS's I have heard that Demers have a lot of electrical problems, (that should work well with Phoenix's heat) My favorite rigs to work on were the Braun's, Wheeled Coach's & Stratus's on Ford chassis's , but that was back in early 90's "those were the days" Edited August 29, 2015 by GilbertFIRE Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Posted September 3, 2015 I love Demers unusual lighting system. I can't wait to see how these look (hopefully not all amber on the box. I've seen a unit that appeared to be like that). Posted April 25, 2016 I wonder were the numbers are going to go I believe Demers applied those graphics at its factory and then that ambulance was sent to the FDIC 2016 show in Indianapolis last week.
