Posted June 3, 2015 While searching for LACOFD pictures I came across what appears to be an old OCFD type 2 engine being used by LACOFD marked as Engine 271. Does anyone know the back story on this engine? https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7123/7126263491_71b08f9ca3_b.jpg
Posted June 3, 2015 The engine actually belongs to the Coral Canyon Fire Safety Alliance. IIRC, they train and are under the command of LA County FS 71. http://corralcanyon.org/engine271.html
Posted June 3, 2015 Last time i saw E271 it was a Pierce. An old El Monte rig i believe. It does have La Co fire dept on the rig.
Posted June 4, 2015 (edited) Who makes that chassis? I should know, but forget since I've not seen that around in a long time, and not too popular at least in San Diego area. Guessing, is that a Ford. I always liked the older Ford chassis. Edited June 4, 2015 by Rescue51
Posted June 4, 2015 The old rig was a Ford. County had it at the shops trying to fix all the issues with it. Of course this was a few years back.
