Posted April 16, 2019 Lots of departments here in Arizona have switched to non firefighter medic ambulances. Buckeye Valley, Sun City, Surprise, Tempe are a few. Some agencies are also using private ambulances out of their stations. If it's dispatch id is "medic", then it's a non firefighter medic ambulance. A "rescue" ambulance is staffed with firefighters. I don't know if they have actual vehicles assigned to these IDs but the IDs are used during special events. Usually placeholders for large events like Coyotes & Cardinals Games.
