Posted February 11, 2019 Noticed over the weekend that Chula Vista is now running a squad - Squad 62. Anyone know which station it's located at? Current CV stations are 51-59.
Posted February 11, 2019 Thanks for the info 'codethree'. Not sure where SQ62 is but I suspect at one of the Fs's where the truck(s) are. It is refreshing to see more agencies housing a squad type rig and run it on the MedAids instead of beating a truck up with all the wear and tear, cycles, and risks of accidents. Plus the squad is a more rapid response rig, suitable for ALS level MedAids or T/C's.
Posted February 11, 2019 National City FD also is running a Squad as well. Squad 33 if I remember right

Posted February 13, 2019 Saw another news article...apparently it's a roving unit serving the eastern portion of the city where response times have been poor.
Posted February 15, 2019 The home station for Squad 62 is Station 57. As previously mentioned it roams the eastern portion of the city. If it shows closer to a call than another unit it will be dispatched in addition to that unit. They can add themselves to calls at will and when not assigned to a call move to areas where the normal company is unavailable for whatever reason (incident, training, mechanical, etc.).
