Posted November 16, 2018 For those old enough to remember, many years ago they called them "city service Ladders" all the ground ladders and no aerial. The job is a littler different now, but the concept as has been said is to save wear and tear on a million dollar piece of equipment. Historically, depts that could not afford a 100ft stick bought them or city shops refurbished a older piece. Another term is a QUAD.
