Posted July 1, 2017 A Cessna 310 lost the starboard engine on takeoff and while trying to make emergency landing, the twin crashed on the 405 just short of runway at John Wayne/Santa Ana. The plane clipped a pick-up driven by a fire captain for Avalon, who was uninjured, and actually rescued the two plane occupants from a rapidly growing fire. Posted July 1, 2017 This was LAFD's Crown Foam Carrier stationed at Fire Station 86 in Studio City. It was a 1956 Crown. Went to a tanker fire on the freeway one day and watched it do it's magic. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
