Posted July 7, 2016 Poor guys at old 18's and 19's, they have been firefighters without a home it seems, for some time. Once it was Bostonia-Crest Fire Protection (I think), then it went to East County Fire. Then San Miguel. Then San Miguel goes under Cal Fire. I always wondered if 18's and 19's might go under Lakeside or Heartland. 19's new station is going to be so close to Lakeside's news 1's, it seems a big of duplication will be considered, though 19's tends to be a busy engine with all the MED runs. Posted July 8, 2016 Also wondering if San Miguel will go back to Heartland Fire Communications for dispatch/COM. I assume they likely will.
Posted July 8, 2016 (edited) They will be returning to Heartland for dispatch services. Here is a page from the analysis that was conducted. Here is a link to view the entire analysis. https://www.facebook.com/CAL-FIRE-Local-2881-Firefighters-of-San-Miguel-1599182290364788/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1751030658513283 Edited July 8, 2016 by 619Emergencys Rescue51 likes this
Posted July 9, 2016 Here's a good update article too. Be sure to read the comments section about the new station (old fs19's) being so close to Lakeside's fs1's. http://www.eastcountymagazine.org/node/21916
