Who is responsible for Ric and what equipment do they carry. Lafd or lacofd

For LAFD, every member of every company is trained in RIC. Truck companies carry RIC kits. When a RIC Team is designated at an incident, it will be (at a minimum) an Engine Co. and PM RA or Light Force and RA standing by. There could also be multiple RIC companies assigned.

I’ve been trying to get the matrix for structure fire response but can’t find it anywhere. Lafd but when does the ric company get used is it on the initial response or the second alarm thx

RIC is used for the potential rescue of firefighters only and not used for civilian rescue as the first due company should be providing civilian rescue or any available company if later on in the incident. A RIC team should be placed early in the incident. As early as the third engine company but depends on the incident. I don’t know the policies of the LAFD.

Category a assignment for lafd will have 2 engines a task force and ra so will one of the engine companies be assigned ric or the truck company ?
