From the specs, no real change in appearance. Should look the same on both.
The HR will be in a newer Peterbilt Cab and will be a 50 ton boom vs the current 40 ton boom.

Bid for both LAFD US&R and HR were awarded this week. Pierce won the new US&R Rig and Miller Industries Sister Company on West Coast won the HR bid. Same builder built the last two HR's.
Don't expect these anytime, build time is ~ 12 months. Look for them to arrive at the shops around summer of 2016.

Which Chassis did they choose to be remounted on? Any pics of the progress?

I wonder if the tillers will be dual axle like the ALF's...
Per the link
"These tandem axle units have an equipment capacity of double the NFPA requirement for an aerial ladder!"

Au contraire, mon frère. I think you got lost in translation. Per the Webster dictionary the verb "dispose of" means to give or transfer to another. Where as to "retire" means to stop or withdraw. These older engines will either be sold at auction or given to a sister department somewhere else. Therefore, they still have some useful life to someone/ somewhere else. I would say "retire" sounds a bit harsh. ;-)

Considering the current frontline Pierce Dash engines at BHFD are 2004's I wouldn't say new engines every 10 years is out of the norm. That's pretty good use of a front line engine. The 2004's will go to reserve and the 1993 engines (2) and one 1992 engine will be disposed of. Additionally the new PUC engines are CAFS engine. I believe a first for BHFD.

Does anyone have pictures of LAFD's new brush patrol? I saw one picture on Firehouse.com.

I did hear LAFD is in the process of looking to replace the crash trucks at LAX.
LAFD and LAWA have developed a two- phased plan to replace the aging ARFF fleet. Through thisaction (Phase One), LAWA will procure four new ARFF vehicles and will retire two of the existingARFF vehicles, so that a total of six ARFF vehicles are available. In a separate action, in approximately six months, staff will return to the Board with a request toprocure two more ARFF vehicles (Phase Two). Once six new ARFF vehicles are in place, LAWA willretire the remaining two aged ARFF vehicles. In November, LAWA approved the purchase of the first 4 Rosenbauer Panther Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting 3000 6x6 vehicles. -
