Posted June 12, 2015 In Southern California, it seems more agencies are going with the black cab top over red paint scheme on their new fire rigs. Alpine has either been delivered or soon to, their new KME with that paint scheme. I understand Julian Fire also has or is getting a new black over red. Oceanside, Bonita, Rincon, are other agencies. It seems to me in our summer heat the black cab top would be hotter than the traditional red tops or white tops. What is the reason behind this new trend here? Thank you in advance!
