Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) "mr.ranger" thanks for that news link. I heard of the crash, and hitting a light pole is never a good thing. Glad all the FF's will be ok. Not much can be done if a driver has that kind of medical emergency, the engineer on the pumper. Just last week or so, we had a San Diego County Sheriff's deputy blackout on the freeway in her patrol car (not responding to any calls), and then spin out hitting the center divide. I heard she had minor to moderate injuries but will fully recovery. No word on why she might have lost consciousness. I have no statistical evidence to support my sense, but just an observation that it seems throughout our nation, in the last few years we have had many more emergency fire and medic rigs involved in TC's. With better lighting (LED). sirens, training and driving techniques, it seems I see more rigs involved in serious crashes.
