Posted June 22, 2013 As far as I've heard, LVFD/CCFD medics respond and treat until AMR/ Medic West arrives and the contracted ambulance companies do most of the actual transporting unless its a life/death emergency. LVFD/CCFD also will do transports if the victim is one of their own. Hopefully someone else can confirm but thats the way I hear it works. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Posted June 23, 2013 Yes, LVFD and CCFD have their medics driving large ambulances to all med calls. Transport is by the contracted ambulance services, AMR/Medic West. Unless it is a fire or police member, the medics are freed up to continue taking calls. Obviously in a mass casualty situation they will also do transport to the hospitals. LVFR was looking at taking the med call hospital runs themselves but decided not to do it at this time. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
