Posted November 1, 2013 I think Rural/Metro will be pretty secure in the long run, especially with the bankruptcy filing allowing them to get out of some debt. On the EMS side, they hold a lot of good contracts that other providers and cities can't handle. I think the Fire part of their business nowadays in very expensive for them to provide, and that's where they are taking a lot of the hit. I see them getting out of that in the future. I can't see anyone buying them out, either. AMR doesn't seem to be actively pursuing much lately and has dumped some contracts and other things where they don't make a good profit.
