  1. Could be due to brown outs, the department has been cutting units daily due to Covid.
  2. I’m unsure of these units, I do know that Lake Mead has seasonal wildland crews (I’m pretty sure it’s from NDF but not 100% sure), maybe that’s who operates these engines. I do know that the two stations on Mount Charleston are now operated by the Mount Charleston Fire Protection District and no longer NDF (that happened a few years back). Those Mount Charleston stations are 853 (Kyle canyon) and 856 (Lee canyon).
  3. On CCFD’s Facebook they said it will be truck 22.
  4. Hello, I have been curious about what vehicles the assistant chiefs drive as well as their locations. I’ve recently seen a video with Battalion 43, what do they oversee and are there other battalions in the 40’s as well? With many fire departments around the country browning out units has LA County browned out any units during this current downturn as well as were there any back in the mid 2000’s like LA city saw with some of their light forces? I also am curious about the fire shops, are there several or is there one central shop? Any info helps, thanks!
  5. As of now station 61 (old 16) is being remodeled, truck 61 is running out of station 31 and rescue 61 is running out of station 16. Station 3 is almost done with the new station, should be operational by the beginning of the year. The county has plans for at least 3 additional stations in the southwest part of the valley which will include an additional truck company. The city is planning on a station in the new Sky Pointe community in the northwest but there’s only talk of it and nothing in stone yet. North Las Vegas has plans for 1 station within the next two years and I’ve heard most likely another station not far after that. Henderson is currently remodeling 83 and adding an additional rescue bay to the station.
  6. 38’s has a new truck
  7. All engines are ALS in the Valley
  8. As of now they are staying with rescues, the squads are mainly due to how busy 32 is and with the station being small it’s better to have a squad to help with the call volume (also to see if it’s more feasible) and 13 because it’s the airport. Haven’t heard any word on them adding additional squads.
  9. Crosslays are both 200’ of 1 3/4” and the Orange is 200’ of 2 1/2”. For long hose lays (apartments being most common) the operation is using a 2 1/2” with gated wye to an 1 3/4”.
  10. The response setup for LVFR, CCFD and NLVFD are 4 engines, 1 truck, 1 rescue, 2 BC’s and depending on where in the City you’ll get HR44 or CBRNE3. 1 of the 4 engines will be RIT unless the heavy rescue or CBRNE are on scene in which case they’ll be RIT (unless there’s some exception such as first or second in with victims or they need to assist crews in firefighting operations). Now if there are reports of people trapped or it’s a commercial/apartment building you may get additional units but the above units are on your confirmed building fires. Once a RIT operation has occurred, a second alarm is immediately sent to the incident.
  11. Engines and trucks have extrication equipment, none of the LVFR rescues have them.
  12. Yes, all fire department rescues are paramedic level rescues.
  13. Any word on which stations they are going to?
  14. Henderson opened station 91 in late 2017. It serves the new Inspirada community out near the M hotel. Word is that North Las Vegas is planning a new station in the northwest part of their city but that is still a few years away. Las Vegas has had talks about a possible new station in the new Skye Canyon community but again that will also be a few years away if that. Station 61 (old station 16) for CCFD is supposed to be getting a full remodel within the year. Truck 61 is supposed to go to new station 16, I forget where the rescue will go.
  15. As of now old station 6 is station 103, housed there is engine 103, rescue 103 and CBRNE 3. The CBRNE crew staffs engine 103 until the founding in next years budget comes in and then the engine will have its own crew. Engine 3 and rescue 3 will be temporary housed down the street from the old station until the new one is built. Haz Mat 3 is going to the fire shop across from station 8. If needed since station 8 is haz mat then they will take the haz mat rig to the call. The end result will be station 3- engine, rescue, haz mat, CBRNE. The department would like all haz mat members in one station so the possibility of fully staffing the haz mat unit and adding a second rescue to station 3 is very likely but still unknown. Station 103- engine and rescue.
  16. The rigs have been at the shop a lot more than rigs from previous orders, at least in the first year of having them. They are fast and the compartments are laid out well. The firefighters have a very large amount of space in the back but the officer and engineer have very little space in front ( would be nice if they evenly spaced it out). The air pack seats face backward and makes it difficult for the firefighters to see what's happening upon arrival when they are coming down the street. Hose bed is pretty high in the rear but I would say most members like the overall rig, lower crosslay bed, more compartment space in the cab, many emergency and scene lights as well as good A/C for when it's 120 in the summer. Several more are being made now, truck 7 is at the shop (hopefully soon to be in service), new Air Resource 1 is still at the shop (going on 3 months), the department won't take ownership until warranty issues are resolved and 5 new rescues have been in service for approximately 2 months now.
  17. It would be nice, but the department is figuring a lot of things out when it comes to apparatus
  18. At this time Truck 7 is in a pierce quantum quint, due to it being extremely slow going up hills for emergencies and constantly being out of service for electrical issues they are replacing it with this new Smeal, same features in regard to it being a quint since there is no longer an engine at 7. They went with a straight stick instead of a bucket due to it being a little bit less weight since the tank and pump take up a lot. Unknown where the current unit will go but we should see within the next month or so.
  19. Is there any word on them getting a new air and light unit?
  20. Does anyone have an updated list of apparatus within Battalion 6 and Battalion 22?
  21. Don't worry everyone, the raiders flag was there just for that picture.
  22. Oh it's just the American fire service at its finest haha but hopefully it all works out.
  23. Station 3 has been added to the budget for many many years now. Every time the budgeted money goes toward another project so I guess we'll see if it actually goes through or not. They plan to put all Haz-Mat personnel there (currently at 3 and 8). Rumor is potentially taking the haz-mat crew off truck 8, putting them on the Haz-Mat unit (currently cross-staffed by engine 3) and bringing truck 8 to either 4 or 10. But this will obviously be after new station 3 is built.
  24. Ya, talking to a few members there are some things that will take getting use to, can space is great, most of the compartments are well thought out, captains seat is a little small but for the most part the crews are happy with them, we'll have to give it some time to see how well they hold up and perform.
