  1. Looks like 704s. They should just use this design for all future stations to save money.
  2. I heard them on the scanner and was wondering. Are they getting a station in the south end of Estrella?
  3. I knew you'd be able to lay it out precisely! Thanks
  4. Lots of departments here in Arizona have switched to non firefighter medic ambulances. Buckeye Valley, Sun City, Surprise, Tempe are a few. Some agencies are also using private ambulances out of their stations. If it's dispatch id is "medic", then it's a non firefighter medic ambulance. A "rescue" ambulance is staffed with firefighters.
  5. I agree with you on all points. Better to go Cal Fire and San Diego County Fire. Volunteer departments were good back in the day, but times have changed and so should fire service. Time to move on.
  6. I saw Vent 1 listed on a 3-1 high rise call today. I thought that unit was no longer in service, or did they remount it on a newer chassis?
  7. Interesting. Thanks for the reply.
  8. The CVC is so outdated. All public safety vehicles should have red and blue lights, front and back. It's much more visible at night than just red, which blends in with traffic. Time to get with the times Chipies!
  9. AMR is really get squeezed out of 911 in Maricopa County. I think only Avondale, El Mirage, and Tolleson are left on the West side.
  10. There is a medium duty type ambulance for Maricopa at Bell Ford. It's been there for a while. No markings yet but it is in their colors. Can't tell what type of Ford chassis it is.
  11. What's up with the new engines? They were delivered a while back but haven't seen any in service.
  12. I agree, plain rig, but do like the Arizona flag in the grill.
  13. Whatever happened to R199??
  14. Kevin, my thoughts exactly. A medical squad is 2 people. If you're staffing 4, might as well use an engine so that you have fire attack capabilites.
  15. Truck 17
  16. The new engines are PUCs and the tower is going to 17s and has a yellow painted ladder.
  17. I know. Lots of red tape, $$$, and probably egos!
  18. What the hell is going on here? Don't get how 3 departments nowhere near each other are part of the same district? Sun Lakes should have joined either Chandler or Gilbert. Tonopah should join Buckeye Valley, who should then join Buckeye.
  19. I'm surprised they went with a 75' tower. Especially with Boswell Hospital in their district.
  20. The new Sutphen will replace one of the older ones, which will go to the reserve fleet. I haven't seen the ALFs in a while, so they might be gone already. The Blue Horizons station has been planned for years but there isn't enough call volume out there yet. They need to increase staffing before any new stations get built. Cross staffing E703 and L703 needs to end. Especially since they are the TRT team. 701,705,and 706 definitely need new houses.
  21. Lt191 is in their new rig. Saw them training with e191 behind the station.
  22. Looks like Surprise is getting rid of their type-3 , previously used by E-304. It was at the city yard with the Surprise markings removed. Is 304 now running one of the E-one's?
  23. The low acuity rigs are meant to handle the low risk ems calls that come in, like backaches and falls. Mesa just needs to put E2203 and 2205 back in service and leave them. Running a TRV is no different.
  24. Phoenix SWAT has one also and I never see it on t.v. on SWAT calls!
  25. Wow. Another new rig. Isn't their current rig only a couple of years old? And don't they still have the Phoenix spec ALF as a reserve?
