    Casey,

This is all I could find on it so far. It is Station 26 and 28. I'm still digging for more info...

Thanks Res51cue, I was thinking that the FD had finally gotten funding from somewhere to rebuild 26s, which was talked abt prior to the '08 downturn in the economy. It's good to see that the city is getting rid of the asbestos and lead concerns there and 28s.

GFD also had plans to rebuild 29s across the street at what had been a former car dealership. That lot is now a Trader Joe's. That plan was also thought of abt the same time as rebuilding of 26s. Looks like bad timing on the financial side of things.

    Thanks again!

  2. Just viewed a YouTube vid posted by Glendale FD Chief Lanzas. Among the subjects was the "temporarily moving T26 to 21s while they were building 2 stations."  I'm under the impression that they are either rebuilding 26s on site or remodeling the house, hence, the moving of the Truck.  He doesn't ID the other house. Anyone have any info as to which two houses are being affected?

Here is the link to the vid.

    Thanks,

  3. Question about the LVFD. I have a few pics of some of Vegas' rigs from circa '98 to 2000, that I acquired, not my pics so I wont post them. At that time, they were running with white rigs with the painted dangling red dice for their unit numbers, when did they switch over to red apparatus?  Just curious.

    Thanks in advance.

  4. Just curious, since the Type 3 rigs were put into service, I have not seen E77 dispatched on calls.  According to Pulse Point,  E477 has been dispatched in its place. Has Engine 77 been taken out of service?

    Thanks!

  5. Just curious as to when it went into service.  Have seen pics of it and have seen it on pulsepoint. Have there been any other changes since Squads 10, 87, 115 were established and the downsizing of LF 127 to just the Quint a cpl of years ago?

    Thanks

Any word on who got 9's old truck shop #60692. Looks like T-50 still running a LTI.

In a promotion posting today of a new Capt II at 50s, they are standing in front of T50,and its an ALF. Unknown where it served previously, or when the pic was taken.

  7. Just had a thought. This is for the older guys on the site. When Santa Ana went to the OCFA for fire/ems services several years ago, what happened to the various rigs that had been restored over the years? Were they sold off? Have a few pics I took back in the mid 80s of a "Long nosed" Seagrave. That was chrome yellow, and a similar cabbed TDA that was restored in red.  Any ideas where they wound up?

    TIA.

    When will they reopen?

In the link provided, it says,

We are currently working on the Light Force 38 implementation timeline, as it is dependent on the timing of Drill Tower graduations, the availability of a new truck and pump, and budget impact.  The implementation projection at this time is mid-2019.

Yes T26 should be in service within the past few days, yes there is a concern with the tiller suspension but nothing to prevent them from going into service... T95 should be next up and T69 is going to be old T11

Did some rereading of the thread and found this post. T50 most likely will not get old T11, because it is out at 69s.

On the new tractors where are the air packs stored I did not see them in the seats ?

Which unit are you referring to, USAR 103 still has their Freightliner.  Just curious

For the first time, I saw an OES engine on a run while transiting down Adams on Wedenesday afternoon(or maybe Park. I forget). What are these apparatus for? Doesn't this overlap CAL Fire?

Nice engines. Just a different sight.

Another possibility is that when you saw them, they might have been responding code to a location for staging w/ other SD area OES rigs to head north either to Idlewild or the Carr Fire in Redding.

Will engine 28 and 102 go back to being a light force

I doubt 102s will get their LF back, it was used to reopen 78s, when their house was finally rebuilt after being damaged during the Northridge quake.  FS 78s opened in '08, prior to the closures due to the budget cuts of '11.

    Engines 1, 209, 20, 35, 50, 69, 73, 74, 75, 92, 96, and 105 as well as Light Forces 14,17, 28,38, 47, 58, and 72 as well as Battalions 3, and 7 and Squads 48 and 87. Also HazMat Task Force 4 became 21 and Engine 21 became Engine 4.

I believe the only closed companies left now are Engine 50s, 74s and 92s, all of the above LFs, the Squads and the 2 BCs.  Don't recall if they have refilled any of the EITs that were cut as well.

The land underneath the engines and the numbers on the door are all different but the backgrounds are exactly the same (flags in the exact same position and whatnot).  I wonder what the background really looks like? :)

If I recall, I remember reading a few years ago, the pics are shot next to one of the buildings and in the background they had parts on pallets and such.  Photoshop can be your best friend. :)
