  1. E3 and M2 had just cleared HTF so they were in the area when the call went out, M2 was automatically added to the call as all the AMR medics were unavailable and E3 requested to be added as they were just a few minutes away, I431 and I432 are information officers aka PIOs. I believe B2 was originally on the call but 4307 asked to be placed on the call instead of B2. B2 did later let B3 who was IC know that he was getting some stuff together at Station 4 if they needed it for the rescue operation but they were never called upon and San Diego Engine 4 was indeed added on to help out USAR4 with man power.
  2. I had heard that there would possibly be some renumbering in the county this year, interesting. Sharp looking rig.
  3. "The San Miguel Consolidated Fire District Board has decided not to build a new fire station in El Cajon near the Lakeside border. Board members voted 4-3 to stop a plan that has been in the works for three years. The property is less than a mile away from a new Lakeside Fire District station on Winter Gardens Boulevard." Read More Sounds like San Miguel might reopen talks with Lakeside to coexist in Lakeside's new station 1.
  4. These are Mercy medics who serve the Zone 2 Rural area of East County, there is not much info about them online. There is some info on them though in this article that the East County Magazine did when the county changed from AMR to Mercy in Zone 2 a few years ago. http://www.eastcountymagazine.org/county-changes-ambulance-service-without-public-notice-public-safety-advocates-voice-alarm "Photo Credits Squad 37 on Flickr"
  5. What exactly would be the benefits of fire going encrypted? If there are any.
  6. I would love to see them return to Heartland and their old numbering, I was never really fond of the 4 digits.
  7. I have not heard the new truck code yet but by the way you describe it it could be running the Whelen Epsilon which is the same siren B2 and M4 run. Here's a video of M4 running code with the Epsilon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1Ul_hLKQrI
  8. Just spotted one of these rigs on the road marked as M26, is this the start of a Rural/Metro transition to AMR?
  9. There are some new AMR units rolling around San Diego City. Medics 487, 489, 980, and 985 have been showing up on pulsepoint today, I'm not sure if these units are renumbered units or if they were put in to supplement the city due to Rural/Metro's poor response times the last few months.
  10. 26 is at station 17 and 20 is at Monte Vista HQ but does move around a lot during the day.
  11. Read earlier today that Rural Metro Fire would not be affected by the merge.
  12. From what I've seen its only staffed during weather events like the red flag we just had and potential flooding rains. I've seen it run on medical aids usually taking the place of the engine and of course vegetation fires, i'm not sure what kind of rescue equipment it has if any.
  13. Was reading some meeting agendas and minutes from Heartland recently and saw that a possible merger with NCDJPA was in the talks. There is talk about this possible merge in the 3rd paragraph of their 2016-2017 Financial Plan which you can read here.
  14. This is on the agenda for the fire board meeting on the 27th. ACTION AGENDA ITEMS 2. Approve purchase of Fire Prevention vehicle. 3. CSA 115 – The Board of Directors will discuss and may take action to re-establish discussions with Lakeside Fire District to further explore possibilities of a joint CSA 115 annexation. 4. CSA 115 – The Board of Directors will discuss and may take action to stop development of the Station 19 fire station (Pepper Drive) pending results of discussions with Lakeside Fire District regarding CSA-115.
  15. I was reading on another site that the county might be trying to get a unified station / apparatus numbering system going due to the fact that there are many duplicates and a few triplicates in the current system. Ex. SDFD, Coronado, and County Stations 36, HRT and SDFD Stations 10 and etc. Now that San Miguel will be returning to a standalone agency and going back to their 2 digit numbering it will further increase the number of duplicate stations. The person who posted about this also stated that it would happen probably sometime next year if it were to happen which would be around the same time that San Miguel changes their numbering back. Have any of you heard anything about this? And do you think it would be a good idea to have a unified system throughout the county?
  16. They will be returning to Heartland for dispatch services. Here is a page from the analysis that was conducted. Here is a link to view the entire analysis. https://www.facebook.com/CAL-FIRE-Local-2881-Firefighters-of-San-Miguel-1599182290364788/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1751030658513283
  17. T36 is one amazing looking rig, too bad they had to ruin it with the counties awful graphics.
  18. The Border Fire is definitely bringing some interesting sights to El Cajon. The day the fire started SDFD E44 went code by my house in El Cajon on the way to the Border Fire, there are also some strike teams in various parking lots around El Cajon either resting or grouping up to head down to the fire.
  19. Patrol 2 is being staffed today for the extreme heat and fire danger.
  20. Lakeside's Patrol 2 was in service during some of the rain events during the winter, I haven't seen it on Pulsepoint since.
  21. EL CAJON — El Cajon is contracting out more of its paramedic services with a private company. The City Council unanimously agreed last week to an expanded deal for five years with American Medical Response Ambulance Service Inc. for transporting patients to hospitals. As part of the contract, AMR will pay the city nearly $1.5 million over five years. The city also anticipates overall savings based on a decrease in personnel costs, capital costs, such as fuel, and for vehicle upkeep. Read the entire article here
  22. I haven't seen or heard anything on any AMR supervisors, I would imagine with 4 AMR units in El Cajon there would be some sort of supervisor covering the area if needed and T6 is currently out of service again and E206 is in service at station 6.
  23. El Cajon is now all AMR.
