  2. The City of El Cajon just recently approved the purchase of a new Pierce Truck, delivery is supposed to be in the Fall of 2025.
  3. Heartland also got a type 3 (OES 6310) which will be housed at station 9.
  4. T6 in service just now, probably wont last long.
  5. \ Photos from San Miguel's Facebook.
  6. DATE: January 8, 2019 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council members FROM: Nahid Razi, Purchasing Agent SUBJECT: Purchase of Fire Engine RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council adopts the next Resolution in order, and authorizes the Purchasing Agent, in accordance with Municipal Code 3.20.010(C)(5), to execute an agreement with Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. for the purchase of a Pierce Triple Combination Pumper in the amount of $758,566.37. BACKGROUND: On June 26, 2018, the City Council approved the vehicle replacement budget, which included the replacement of a 12-year old fire engine pumper. On December 11, 2018, the City Council authorized an increase to the budgeted fire engine due to an unforeseen price increase. Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. is the supplier of standardized fire engine equipment for Heartland Fire and Rescue fleet because the equipment has proven to be very reliable with minimal down time for repairs. The City of Los Angeles awarded RFQ No. 4828 – Fire Truck, Triple Combination Apparatus on June 1, 2016 to Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. Upon review of the City of Los Angeles’s bid for fire engines, it was determined that the equipment available under this contract will meet the needs of the City and is compatible with existing equipment. The City of Los Angeles bid allowed the successful bidder to permit other public agencies to "piggyback" onto its bid award. Piggybacking is a type of intergovernmental cooperative purchase in which an agency is extended the same pricing and terms of a competitively-bid contract entered into by another agency. Municipal Code 3.20.010(C)(5) authorizes the city to acquire equipment in cooperation with another agency. FISCAL IMPACT: The fiscal impact of this purchase is $758,566.37. Sufficient funds are available in the Fiscal Year 2018-19 Annual Budget Vehicle/Equipment Replacement (605000).
  7. T6 is in service.
  8. Heartland is also getting a new OES rig which is going to station 13, OES406 is its unit number.
  9. New rigs are going to 14 and 16, should be in service soon.
  10. Taken from their Facebook, looks somewhat identical to B3.
  11. A very unfortunate situation.
  12. Well im not entirely sure what the mission of the vehicle is, your "rescue support rig" idea seems about right but Bit Pros which is who the vehicle belongs to is a company that offers mechanical support to fire departments out in the field.
  13. Its a mechanic rig. https://mcbfire.com/deliveries/15-crane-rescue-service-body-bit-pros-fire-services/?recent=1 http://www.bitprosinc.com/fire-services.html The vehicle can be seen here at around 6:23
  14. Black rims always make an apparatus look sharp.
  15. Speaking of trucks, San Miguel is looking for a new truck for 15s which has been out of service for a few weeks now.
  16. Looks like Lakeside got their 3rd medic in service, I assume its at station 1 with E1.
  17. There were multiple heartland units on the fire and i'm pretty sure it was all auto aid. Truck 6 and Engine 6 from El Cajon were placed on the fire as part of the 3rd alarm along with many of the La Mesa units, even SMG E21 was placed on it.
  18. Darn, what a shame
  19. The fire was in the shop on the property and was confined to an engine only, not sure what engine.
  20. Wow, that's going to be one of the better looking engines in the county
  21. Solid look
  22. Looks like station 6 now has 2 medics just like station 8 bringing the total amount of medics in El Cajon to 5 during the peak hours of the day. I'm curious to see if this is a permanent unit that will run during the peak hours like M440 or if this is just some sort of temporary unit. CSA69 is supposed to be bringing in a 5th medic too which would really bolster the transportation numbers for Santee, Lakeside and El Cajon as mutual aid from AMR has been running into the 3 jurisdictions quite a bit lately.
  23. Station 1 does not have a medic currently I believe but I would imagine when they bring in the new medic unit it will be housed at station 1 as medic 1
