Is Braun Northwest/Northstar still the contracted supplier for the LAFD Rescues (ambulances)?

Yes, it appears they are. Assuming the units below haven't been delivered yet.

    Los Angeles Fire Department - 2015 Dodge 4500 - 144" Module (2161/62/63/64-1)
    Los Angeles, City of - 2015 Dodge 4500 (2327 thru 2344-1)

  2. Yesterday the administrative law judge made her decision regarding Maricopa Ambulance's application for a 'certificate of necessity'. She recommended that the director of the Arizona Dept. of Health Services approve the application and issue a CON to Maricopa Ambulance. I believe the DHS director must make her decision within the next 30 days to either approve or deny the application.

  3. Why do you think this is a Horton?

The distinctive LED clearance lights on the front edge of the box roof along with other trim on the box. Compare it to your facebook photo of the Superstition Fire/Medical Horton rig. Btw, I can almost make out Horton's logo on the front of the siren speaker in the photo you posted above.

  4. They have been handling IF from Del Webb for some time now. They have both Medic and Rescue units. SW actually does not have a CON for IF transports in that area. RM does. They used to dispatch AMT or RM marked ambulances into SCW when requested to do so.

I guess I wasn't aware that SWA's CON didn't cover the SCW area. Btw, it was revealed in the Maricopa Ambulance CON hearing that AMR will be eliminating a few of the ambulance service brands in AZ that R/M owned. Have you heard anything? I'm guessing the retirement list might include AMT and American Comtrans.

  5. I really dislike Buckeye Valley using the ALS rescues to do inter-facility transports. It puts residents at risk if something major was to happen. Long delay waiting for SW ambulances to show up.

After all, the fire district isn't located in a remote rural area of the state. I agree. Those ALS rigs should be dedicated to 911 transports only. Besides, there probably isn't enough inter-facility transport call volume in Buckeye Valley's area that would help bring in sufficient revenue to make a substantial dent in their ambulance operation's red ink problem.
