  1. I noticed Tempe PMT station 275 and Scottsdale PMT station 604 have been rebranded to Life Line Ambulance.
  2. The 'certificate of necessity' process for Maricopa Ambulance has mostly been completed. About 80 hours of testimony was presented by Maricopa Ambulance, AMR-R/M and ABC Ambulance in a hearing conducted by an administrative law judge. The hearing wrapped up about two weeks ago. In the next 60 days AMR and ABC will be allowed to submit their objections in writing to the judge regarding the issuance of a CON to Maricopa Ambulance. There should be a ruling by the judge in April. The Arizona DHS director will then make a decision to either accept or reject the judge's ruling. We should know by the end of April whether or not Maricopa Ambulance gets issued a CON to provide ALS/BLS ambulance service in the Valley. If they get their CON, Maricopa plans to place 18 new Mercedes Sprinter type II ambulances into service here. Btw, during the hearing AMR mentioned it will be placing about 100 new ambulances into service in Arizona in 2016 to replace older ambulances. It will be nice to see lots of new rigs on the streets of the Valley, both private and FD operated.
  3. Maricopa Ambulance will start operations this month. Maybe we'll be seeing a few of these rigs rolling on Valley streets in the next few weeks.
  4. Looks like they're getting close to starting up operations. https://www.facebook.com/events/626314244215188/ http://www.azdhs.gov/documents/preparedness/emergency-medical-services-trauma-system/ambulance/ground/certificates/maricopa-ambulance-llc-certificate.pdf

  10. AZ DHS director approves Sun City Fire-Medical's CON application.
  11. After using Marque ambulances for many years PFD is switching to Demers rigs. http://www.demers-ambulances.com/news/article/phoenix-fire-department-orders-demers-mxp-150-ambulances
  12. I believe Demers applied those graphics at its factory and then that ambulance was sent to the FDIC 2016 show in Indianapolis last week. The other new Demers rigs will probably be delivered to the PFD fleet shop minus the graphics, like this one.
  13. Sun City department building fleet as it awaits final OK for ambulance service
  14. Yesterday the administrative law judge made her decision regarding Maricopa Ambulance's application for a 'certificate of necessity'. She recommended that the director of the Arizona Dept. of Health Services approve the application and issue a CON to Maricopa Ambulance. I believe the DHS director must make her decision within the next 30 days to either approve or deny the application. https://portal.azoah.com/oedf/documents/2015A-EMS-0190-DHS/2015A-EMS-0190-DHS-0171.pdf

  16. Apparently, PFD increased their order to 10 rigs. PFD in Quebec inspecting the first batch. Photos Short video clip
  17. Peoria nears goal of city-operated ambulances after council approves funds
  18. Sun City Fire and Medical claiming their new ambulance service will be "self-sustaining". Sun City one step closer to having local ambulance service
  19. It appears Peoria FD is one step closer to being issued a CON. Btw, the Tempe FD CON hearing has been postponed. I'm guessing TFD blinked and is now attempting to do a deal with AMR. Possibly similar to Peoria's deal. Article: Peoria cleared by state to begin preparations for running city ambulance service
  20. Thanks for the update.
  21. The Phoenix FD Demers rigs are just now going into production. https://www.facebook.com/demersambulances/posts/1082508555146028
  22. The distinctive LED clearance lights on the front edge of the box roof along with other trim on the box. Compare it to your facebook photo of the Superstition Fire/Medical Horton rig. Btw, I can almost make out Horton's logo on the front of the siren speaker in the photo you posted above.
  23. That's not a Demers box, it's a Horton box. Does the Phoenix MCT shop do installations for other Valley fire departments sometimes?
  24. Thanks for the update. I had been wondering if those rigs were built yet.
  25. Making cost recovery promises they can't keep. Beware Peoria citizens! City ambulances may be in operation by this winter
