A few years ago the Town of Florence entered into contract with Southwest Ambulance. The contract places requirements on the ambulances. Such requirements include vehicles under a certain millage, therefore SW has purchased new vehicles for the area.

First a little background;

The Town of Florence Fire Department aka Florence Fire/Medical has two stations and staffs three apparatus. With plans on expansion with the upcoming annexations planned.

The first wave of 'new' ambulances came after SW pulled from Chandler. Shops 486, 487, & 488 were R281, R2810, & AP283 thus becoming AP547 (shop486), AP548 (shop487), and AP549 (shop488).

The next wave came in March when SW purchased 3 brand new Ford/Braun ambulances. These have the Ford gas motors. Shops 494 (AP547), 495 (AP548), & 496 (AP549). The lighting seems to be the cheaper Code 3 PSE brand LED lighting vs the Whelen light package that were on the Chandler Rescues.

Those Chandler rescues then went to Maricopa as AP571 (shop486), AP572 (shop487), & AP573(shop488).

SW of Florence just got brand new ford brauns and they are different than the ones Northwest go. Even the brand new Tempe Fire medic units (still RM ambulance)!have a different set up.

For where? Are they replacing 411 or 412 already?

It happened sometime around November or December. Rumor was that AMR was looking to lease the property. R/M Fire offices have moved to FS857. Spare apparatus have been stored throughout the stations in Maricopa & Pinal counties. Currently there isn't a place to work on fire apparatus and their fleet personnel are completing service work in the field.

Are they all red ? , on  Chevy or Ford chassis ?

They are fords and all red. Same scheme as their current trucks with the exception of the lighting systems.

Is Florence a PMT contract?

Nope, it's a SW contract.

Did the Florence cars 547 548 549 get there new Brauns yet ?

They've been sitting at 617 W Main for several weeks now... I hear waiting for perm tags then DHS inspection... two weeks.

BC830 covers western Maricopa County with E833 & E837.

R859 is getting a new Ford/Braun,  is R857 getting one  too ?

  Do you know where  253  current quarters is  ?  I assume it's

around Gilbert Hospital since they take a like transfers out of there and Run with E256  first due  

Queen Creek is building new Station 413 on Queen Creek rd just west of Sossaman rd  and should be  

be breaking ground soon

R859 will be getting a new Ford/Custom Braun... This is a demo/tester to see if RM will purchase the new gas motors that Ford offers. I imagine that R857 & R821 to also get new Brauns if RM likes the motor.

AP253 @ 67 S Higley Rd, Gilbert AZ

AP547, AP548, & AP549 are all 'supposed' to be getting new brauns Jan 1st (per their contact with the Town of Florence).

The the ford brauns they are currently in (Former chandler rescues) will then go to AP596, AP597, & AP598 in San Tan Valley. It is also rumored that they will be re-pained to Lou Witzeman green as well as E841, E842, & E843 to go along side of RM Fire's re-branding.

Did rural metro buy the new Crimson or did the town of cave creek?
