In my conversation with one of the chiefs, yes, the 5 have been ordered. If they are under build, I'll probably see them in a couple weeks when I am in Appleton. The 1st four not assigned, but 55 might be getting one she said..

Ladder 24 or 4 might get the miami tower you guys speak of. Anyone have pictures of it?

  2. Most likely still owned by the City of Phoenix. Assuming the city is like most, you don't just approach them asking if they want to sell it......

At least in my city, they don't!

    Good luck!

Buckskin Fire Department, same spot as the previous photo only taken in 2018. The Emergency One engine is now in reserve status and used for training.

It's not just used for training. It is a reserve and was just in service at Station 2 on my recent visit a few months ago. Steve

Nice rigs. What is differance between ladder tender and engine. Seem to be exact same rigs.

Rural Metro ended their contract as the fire service provider for Scottsdale on June 30, 2005

Peoria has 9 Rosie's currently (2010 (x2), 11, 12, 13, 14, 16(x3)), with another pumper, a MMT, LT and a Tech Rescue under construction.  I'm just not hearing anything bad... (dammit, I violated my own rule about not getting caught in a Manu. topic)

correct mfg means nothing. But $$$$ does. You must be talking to the wrong people and I won't name anyone in particular. Same thing applies to KME. Think about why a dept makes only 1 purchase of a KME and either never goes back or it will be years before they do. Yes they are a east coast rig and well LA gets low bid too.

thats all and I am out..

I think it's lots of hard City miles (and in the case of 195, long runs into the far north).  The 2010/11 era Spartan/Rosenbauer rigs formerly at 192 and 195 have something like 200k on them... In fact, all 3 went straight to reserve because the 2005 ALF at 196 and the 2007 ALF at 197 had less miles and were actually in somewhat better condition.

Low bid - period. There is a reason they are called Rosenjunkers.

  7. better check that list, it was presented to a Phoenix chief and its not 100% correct is what I was told, but not sure what is incorrect.

    Steve

    yeah, I included them earlier.

    Here is an updated list;

    15,20,23,27,33,34,37,40,54,57,58,905,918,930.

  8. This tanker has the PUC option. Of course not the biggest tanker, but its pretty big!

these type rigs are becoming very popular on the east coast with volunteer departments. most departments are eliminating an engine, tanker and rescue and combining them onto 1 rig. since most volley organizations usually only get 1 rig out the door on daytime responses there are a good fit for them. most have big water, hosebed w/ supply line , multiple hand lines, ladders , and rescue equipment

  9. As a Chief and a buff, it amazes me what you guys accurately know, what you think you know and apparatus you have no idea about. I recently attended a command class in Scottsdale and some of your recent information is wrong. Where do you get your information from anyway?

these ambos have not been delivered. I will tell you that even the dealer is not sure when they will arrive. They say late march early april maybe thats "soon" to those of you that follow that stuff.

Rio Verde won't have a 2nd station for 2-5 years.

The head of apparatus in Peoria said he hasn't ordered ambos for them "yet".
