The current LA18 will change its name to MR18 on the 15th of this month. 

 

It was determined that the name “low acuity” does not aline well with the actual deployment of the unit. LA18 is a 4-person ALS company that responds to critical EMS calls for service without the need for MPW backup. This isn’t consistent with the LA program system wide. It’s been mentioned in another post that MR154 may also go in service as a unique partnership between Gelendale & Phoenix Fire Departments.
