Posted February 16, 2016 On early Sunday morning, 911 calls started coming into Heartland Communications about a vehicle crash. The initial assignment was approximately 01:14 hours. The address was close to the intersection of Ironwood Avenue & Princess Joann Road, Santee. It appears a sedan may have been traveling at high speed, with 4 male teens aboard. It struck a K-Rail at a construction site, then vehicle went airborne, spun 180 degrees, landing in an open storm drain trench box. Victims status were 3 critical, 1 serious to critical. There was some extensive extrication required, and I believe part of the problem was the fire rigs could not directly access the scene due to the K-Rails. Portable lighting was set-up. The assignment of units is as follows: Cop1 T4 B2 E2 R5 M436 E1 E4 E6 M4 M6 MER6 I assume the extensive manpower was due to carrying rescue equipment to scene, and a MCI.
