  1. Also in Ventura Co. (Southern) section of PCH, Federal Fire from Pt. Mugu responds on mutual aid requests.
  2. I'm not sure. I just retired and haven't worked at 9's in about a year.
  3. At 9's when you get to the station, you park in the car wash parking lot before they open. You hang up your keys in the station, and if your on a call, someone will move your car in the fire station lot for you, after the other shift leaves. For the other stations, the oncoming shift park in adjacent lots or on the street. When the forgoing shift leaves, then you park.
  4. From past contracts & experience, the new Pierce Engines will hit the stations in about a year or a little more than a year. Once they are built, they come to the shops, inspected and tested. Then to the radio shops, then hit the field.
  5. Just heard from a friend of mine who works at the shops. LAFD an their next bid for apparatus is going back to Pierce. KME's are C**p.
  6. I wonder why they go with a real Q siren & not an electronic Q. Not sure which one is cheaper.
  7. Who is the mfg. of the new Heavy Rescue
  8. After watching the above video, I believe the green lights are for visibility. Their red lights were not on which indicated no emergency. I just found this on wikipedia. Green emergency lighting is used on vehicles which are protecting nuclear facilities, oil & gas depots, water storage facilities and dams, gas pipelines, airports, defense facilities, maritime facilities, and all other areas which are at a high risk of terrorist attacks.
  9. Why yellow and white? I thought they were going to red.
  10. I noticed in a video of a SFFD apparatus with a green light. What is the significance of the light.
  11. Does anyone know what stations received the OES rigs?
  12. Paramount Studios does have a Fire Brigade. It is very small. Just a modified golf cart with extinguishers and then a mini pumper (F-250) type vehicle. All EMS & fire calls are handled by LAFD. Closest station is 52's.
  13. The smaller 3rd Axel is required by CA law. To be compliant with vehicle weigh laws.
  14. I know here in CA., the only agency (legally) allowed with blue lights is law enforcement. However, the LAFD did receive a waiver from DMV/CHP for a blue light on the Emergency Air vehicle. When they arrive onscene, the blue light is activated so firefighters can see where the unit is located.
  15. https://youtu.be/7LBPvlGJqxU 1:27 into the video. I think Spartan is correct. The Engines did not have a green light but the truck does.
  16. Pump305 do you know what station there at and what type of Engines?
  17. I asked a BC frieƱd of mine about RA 900. He said they are staffed by members from a closed Light Force. They are (basically) rovers. Metro dispatch will place them where needed
  18. If there is an RA 900, it is from Fire Station 100, which is in the Lake Balboa area of San Fernando Valley.
  19. I had the same issue yesterday. Thanks for addressing it.
  20. I believe WT128 (old one) went back to 73's, and is now WT73
