Light force 38 will be getting a new truck when they go back into service some time this year or 2020

One is going to truck 66 and another to truck 3. That last one unknown 

It’s possible but then again denpending on avialible parts and if the shop guys can fix them they’ll probably fix it

Stinger: I’m not sure if county has high rise house packs or what size hose the county uses for high rise fires. I’ll take it the you not from the southern California area. LACoFD covers a very large area. This includes the contract cities. They do not have many high rise structures vs. The city of Los Angeles. West Hollywood (LACoFD 8s and 7s) and Marina del Rey (LACoFD 110s) district area the areas I know of with the most high rise structures.

Is the reason for the IFT due to the needing ALS transport and the private ambulance company not having any ALS units available ?

I’ve always wondered the same thing.  LAFD  led light bar looks like a solid red bar from a distance and when you get up close you notice the flash pattern. The last 2 batches of American Lafrance  ladder trucks had the white lights in the light bar but that was it. 

The rescues can also be attached to a truck company and go to the roof for ventilation and other truck work.

Does anyone know went the current ambulance manufacturing contract ends ? I’m curious to see if the LAFD will go back to wheeled coach.

I was wondering when did the Los Angeles Fire Department start doing IFT’s ( interfacitlity transports) and how does it work vs calling a private ambulance. I know the LAFD dispatch for a IFT is a ems captain and a engine and rescue. Why is the fire department called vs a private ambulance ?

To the rear you have 4 inch (750ft)  supply like  and 2 1/2 (750ft) fire fighting line. On the side you have 1 inch line (500ft) 1 1/2 (400ft) and  1 3/4 ( 400ft) and you have the high rise hose packs 2 inch (150ft)

Anyone know when the next batch will be delivered and if any changes have been made to the specs
