  1. I can't believe a city like Hermosa Beach doesn't want to fork up the money to build a new station/headquarters. Sounds like the city is currpt.
  2. Does anyone know if the truck or the engine was destroyed ?
  3. I wonder if LAFD will switch to Smeal on the next contract since they acquired LTI/LTC
  4. We all know all Hermosa Beach will get is a engine and squad. know lets take a look at if those units are tied up. Backup Paramedic squads: 161 Hawthorne, 21 Lawndale, 2 Palos Verdes, 158 Gardena, 171 Inglewood, 6 Lomita, and Engine 18 Lenox. Engine companies: 161 and 160 Hawthorne, 21, 18, 2, 158, 18, 171, 6 Lomita, and 110 Marina Del Rey Trucks/quints: Light Force 170 Inglewood, quint 159 Gardena, quint 162 Hawthorne, quint 110, quint 106 Palos Verdes Estates/Rolling Hills Estates. USAR/Haz Mat: Haz Mat 105 Compton (border line Carson) and USAR 103 Pico Rivera. For those of you who don't know these station can have extensive ETA's responding into Hermosa if needed. you can go on google maps to get a some what view of the distance to Hermosa Beach.
  5. Bad move if you ask me. The firefighters will benefit from it but not the city.
  6. The colors are for testing purposes only
  7. I really wish the would put City back on the vehicles.
  8. any updates ?
  9. I am curious as too how many stations shut down for L.A. County due to the economic down fall. Example: The city of Inglewood shut down station 172. The Engine was shut down and Squad moved to 171's until this year when station 172 reopened. I know some changes were made in Pomona with light force 181 moving to 185.
  10. and 79s lol
  11. Correction after the 3rd 24hr shift the guys are off for 4 days.
  12. The car wash next to 9s was torn down and turned into a parking lot. The guys park on the wall in the lot until spots are open on the side of the station.
  13. Just curious as to if LAFD will buy Seagraves again.
  14. Within the last several years big departments like New York and Chicago have add at least to the rear of apparatu, blue warning lights. I'm just curious as to if California law will change like it did in NY requiring blue lights to the rear.
  15. I'm not sure LAFD cancelled the contract but from what I knew it was only a 5 year deal with the option to extend. Does anyone know the specs for the new engines. I'm curious as to what chassis they may choose. I'm sure you guys have notice a lot of departments have been going with the Impel, Dash, or PUC.
  16. JNP is right. they'll be on the street between next summer and the end of 2017. Seems like squad 21 should be up for replacement. Their call volume increased dramatically since the move to 21s and being the only fully manned squad in the city.
  17. The trailers were replaced not the tractors.
  18. No white lights in the light bar smh. I prefer the light bar on truck 9 and 29. The 2 white lights in the light bar makes a big difference in visibility. Just my opinion.
  19. Does anyone know which companies won the bid for the 9-1-1 zones for Los Angeles County Fire Dept ?
  20. Well if he's right, then you have E105, E35, E69, E209, E1, E20, E73, and E75. All back in service.
  21. He might be talking about the new USAR rig thats suppose to go to 88s.
  22. Engine 209 is back in service.
  23. yes
  24. I got a alert on my phone about a incident at LAX and it said AF1,2,3,4,5,6,and 7. Here is a video to confirm there is a rig numbered 6.
  25. If you look close its the same disign as the American LaFrance. The only difference is the ladder sitting a little high. LAFD approve the rig so we'll just have to wait and see after this 1 hits the street if the guys like it or not.
