  1. yes lol
  2. any pics
  3. If any thing it would go to 27's or 89's.
  4. I don't think any of the Simon Duplex trucks have been scrapped. 95's and 69's are still running Simon Duplex trucks as their front line rig as well as a few other stations. The rest are in the reserve fleet.
  5. I am guessing these new rigs wont be ready for about 10 to 11 months an on the streets sometime early 2016
  6. well if you times 7 by 10 you get 70 lol
  7. Sounds like the city will be replacing every truck in the department.
  8. any updates?
  9. with today being the 21st. how long does it take from this point before a contract is awarded?
  10. LAFD NEW SIREN is a sirennet/whelen snsa2
  11. Everyone always makes a big deal about fire engines and trucks going on medicals call. We all know that its about the WHAT IFS which is why things are done the way they are. I have been dispatched before to medical calls that turned out to be a working structure fire. now call it a dispatch error or cad error who knows. but just imagine if we rolled up in a squad with smoke and fire showing from a structure. I know this rarely happens but it still can.my only solution would be to run squads is hire more firefighters or maybe just EMTs to run the squad and respond only to medical calls. down side is the $$$$$.
  12. No wonder why pierce never did release any official post about the contract. I wouldn't be surprised if it was KME that complained.
  13. the siren was changed starting from the 2013/2014 models and you right. from a distance I can not tell the difference from a LAFD unit vs aLAPD unit until I hear the airhorn or the EQ2B.
  14. Not 100% sure but Truck 10 also has this new siren on it. here is a video of Rescue 51 with the new siren and EQ2b http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tv36SgYj0Q8
  15. the last batch of rescues as well as the latest kme engines all have a new electronic siren. it kinda sound like the ferdal signal smart siren like LAPD but high pitch or it could be a whelen siren. LAFD rescus have also had the EQ2b for some time now going back to the ford days.
  16. all BLS rescues are numbered 800 or 900 series. 801,805,866 or 903,907, and so on
  17. ?????? no pic
  18. engine 46 has theirs now
  19. 87s and 82s are now in there new kme
  20. I was wondering has SMFD gone back to using there 2 paramedic squads. Squads 1 & 2. I Seen one of them during the L.A. marathon and thought maybe they just was using it for the event. Then today I seen one responding code 3 to a medical call
  21. yes they do but they only use them went they expect it to be a busy day.
  22. Correct me if I am wrong but it is to my knowledge the new engines do not have independent suspension due to KME now offering it. As far as I know KME has a 5 year contract with the LAFD for engines. Once that contract is up I wouldn't be surprised if Pierce wins the next bid for engines and trucks.
  23. Engine 26 is now rolling a new KME
  24. Engine 205 is in a 99 pierce
