  2. thanks for the info
  3. not your average pierce ladder i see.
  4. Random but just curious as to why LAFD doesnt use the white light in the light bar like on the ALF trucks on all vehicles.
  5. I'll never understand how county operates. If you ask me, certain area should be turned over to LA City. Example 110s in Marina Del Rey, 51s at Universal, and that little section down in san pedro due to better coverage from LAFD.
  6. Any news on the LAFD ladder truck bid?
  7. FR1 has acutually been in service for a month or 2 already in the downtown area.
  8. thats good to have another quint that can respond into west hollywood on structure fires.
  9. yes station 172 is still closed and was closed due to budget crisis. my thing is why move the squad to 171 when it could have stayed at 172 and ran as a squad only since all they did was shut down the engine.
  10. Any reason why they didn't leave squad 172 at station 172
  11. so im guessing the 1st of the new trucks will be completed by the end of this month or early next month as long as eveything is on schedule but wont hit the streets till early 2016. I still cant find any production pics anywhere but if anyone has some please share them or any other info.
  12. The paitent transport concept works fine for small slow departments.
  13. Any updates
  14. In the past LAFD has never had FAST RESPONSE UNITS. There will now be 2. FR1 and FR2. 2 brush patrols reassigned. place is unknown at this time.
  15. any changes on the design of the usar and heavy rescue rigs?
  16. Does anyone have any old pics they don't mind sharing of Gardena and Inglewood fire department before LACoFD took over or know of any website where I can find pics at.
  17. If 5's has there new engine then old engine 5 should now be engine 205. (2007 Seagrave)
  18. battalion 4 is in a 2003 suburban
  19. I wonder if LAFD will end up switching to these.
  20. @rescue51 you have a valid point but it only would stand if El Cajon burned. Lets be honest with doing more with less is the reason why engines and trucks get sent on medical calls. in a ideal world I am sure all department would have a vehicle staffed that is dedicated to responding to ems calls. You can not cross staff for the reason of doing more with less. it is always the what if factor. Say you get dispatched to a ems call and leave the truck or engine in quarters and end up having a working fire or even returning home and get dispatch or even just come across one on the way home. Then liability comes into play with the well why didn't they take the engine or truck. I'm sure you get the picture and lets face it fire load decreases and medical calls increase.
  21. will 88s rig even fit in 27s and what about 85s and 89s will they get new rigs or hand me downs.
  22. KME had a 5 year contract for the engines. This should be the last batch and then back to the bidding table.
