  1. On the Hughes Fire Equip, it shows the final const photos, howver not all three units are lettered completely Looking at those photos dated 4/24, can see Engine 10, looks like Engine 5 and the third not lettered at all
  2. The industry is evolving with competitors taking some business away from AMR while they add some new customers in other cities and towns. It remains to be seen what the actual impact will be in Las Vegas, where the new Fire Chief wants to run much of the medical transports with the existing medic units at LV Fire Rescue.
  3. this will only get worse as the great OBcare kicks in as thousands join the ranks of those at the ERs most with no money, will be looking for "free" transport by calling 911, and of course, the bills will never be paid The great State of California will be financially a disaster case, worse than anyone can imagine now
  4. Great, thanks
  5. At this point, I do not think so. Will check with my neighbor, he is a Capt at Station 18. The new replacement stations have been completed. He mentioned 5 new engines to be ordered this year. LVFR is still building new stations, under a bond issue that is ongoing.
  6. Probably Engine 1, as it has a 2000 Pierce Engine 6 is a 2008 Pierce
  7. great , thank you for the info on assignments
  8. any idea of the engine assignments for the 11 new KMEs?????
  9. Found the type 3 engines in a story in the O C Register in August 2013: http://www.ocregister.com/articles/engine-522234-fire-new.html?pic=2 These are built by HME on International chassis Similar to the EMA (OES) type 3s built by HME
  10. As far as I know, the Kyle Canyon NDF station is still open. Not sure that CCFD has any interest in taking over the station. The CCFD vollie station 81, is right across the road from the NDF station.
  11. I am looking through the L A County Fire website for the 2014 apparatus information but have not located it yet. The link below is an extensive and detailed report, the best I have ever seen, on any fire agency. A lot of information on LACoFD: http://fire.lacounty.gov/Forestry/PDF/County%20of%20Los%20Angeles%20Fire%20Department%202013%20Strategic%20Fire%20Plan%20Update.pdf
  12. yes, a very complicated financial picture in North Las Vegas The City added many people in all departments to handle enormous growth during the boom. When all went bust , the foreclosures rate in the City was high. People got laid off in every City department, but that was not enough as people lost their homes and taxes were not paid to the City. A new mayor and some changes in the City Council plus new financial guidance has caused a change in spending by the City. It may be some years before those new proposed stations are built.
  13. Amazing........since North Las Vegas has major budget problems
  14. As best as I can tell, Anaheim was buying Spartan units in recent years. They got two new Spartan ERV engines in 2011, does anyone know which companies they were assigned to? Also, got 4 new Spartan aerials in 2007. They also had some new Crimson engines in 2002. Spartan now has merged all their truck lines in to the Spartan ERV name now.
  15. In todays Las vegas Review Journal: Groundbreaking 10/8 for new Station 108 at 577 Page St ,near Bonanza Road Two bay station to house an engine and a rescue, set to open next summer.
  16. Maybe E 50 which is an "02 Pierce
  17. so who got OES 307?
  18. A lot more with the bucket on the tower ladders. I have read of some fine rescues using the bucket all over the U. S.

  20. If sombody has a contact at Hughes Fire Equipment, the area Pierce dealer, then that will be answered. As far as I have read, LVFR has purchased all their equipment in recent years.
  21. just an educated guess, a lot less money for the Ferrara's! (volly stations have a lot less calls) probably $375,000 plus for the Ferrara and the Quantums are almost in the $500,000 range now
  22. The Quint may be going to Station 34, giving CCFD an aerial device further out on the westside
  23. This CAL FIRE site is the best for major fire information http://cdfdata.fire.ca.gov/incidents/incidents_details_info?incident_id=874 It will be updated this morning, just save it as a favorite, and then get the updated version during the day FYI
  24. Clark County Fire usually purchases at least two Quantums a year. Must be another one out there? CCFD also has been buying some units for the volly stations, last year bought two quick attack units. Bought some Ferrara engines a few years before that and a tanker.
  25. Basically, the City of Las Vegas,is lookingforadditional funding for all departments, is trying to grab some revenue on the ambulance runs. CCFD is still using the large paramedic ambulances for hospital runs only when police or fire personnel are involved a mass casualty situation. This keeps the paramedics in their first due response area to cover all types of medicals, accidents etc 24/7
