  1. New CCFD Pierce Quantum Tower 18: http://www.hughesfire.com/assets/28630-clark-county-photo-report-week-9-.pdf
  2. yes, T 16 got a new 75' QT stick in 2013 FYI The new Pierce T 18 Tower is just about ready, as are the new Pierce Q short body engines for E 23 and E 24 Photos at Hughes Fire Equipment website
  3. CCFD has 4 Towers at 11,16,17,18 and a 75' stick at T 22,they pulled the old aerial ladder out of Laughlin LVFR has 4 Towers and 2 TDAs Henderson has 2 Towers since they all work closely together, that looks like the equipment they will stay with CCFD gained another station, this one at Mt Charleston when they took over the NDF station across the road from Station 81 (vol) Went by there two weeks ago,the NDF station had two NDF type 3s in the bays and a CCFD Pierce Quantum on the apron, Lettered T 4 (must be a training engine ,reserve piece) (FF all were hired as full time CCFD firefighters) Not sure if CCFD will get to keep those two NDF Type 3s or order replacements
  4. My roster shows the 2014 Pierce Quantums went to Engines 25, 27 and 32
  5. Should have written Truck 18 will get the new tower. Nothing yet as to which stations are getting the new engines.
  6. Yes, spoke to my contact and the new Tower 18 is still being built at the Pierce plant. Hughes Fire Equipment has the in process pictures for this unit and the two new engines on order, as well on their site.
  7. Will see if the unit has been put in service as yet. Also will try to get a photo
  8. New Pierce Tower is going to Truck 18
  9. May go to Truck 18, my neighbor is a Captain at Station 18, which is also CCFD HQ
  10. Does anyone have an update on the assignments and numbering of the new type 3s delivered to OES recently? The original 15 were delivered in 2007 and are in three strike teams, housed in San Diego County,L A County, and the Bay Area Saw some OES photos of a strike team of 5 type 3s to Sacramento area departments,.8431 thru 8435 in that group Must be two more strike teams assigned to?
  11. Actually, two seperate stations across the street from eatch other: The NDF station is right on Kyle Canyon Road, CCFD Vol Station 81, is across the road down in the village
  12. Update on the CCFD takeover of Mt Charleston NDF stations Todays LV Review-Journal article states that Clark County is putting together the funds and a package to take over the Kyle Canyon Station, 8 firefighters and the part time Lee Canyon Station from NDF on 7/1/15 Nothing was mentioned on the apparartus subject. Also, the 30 or so volunteers at the Mt Charleston CCFD station will stay in place, nothing changes there.
  13. Not sure but the local paper said that CCFD would hire the NDF firefighters. Not sure about the apparatus that is at the station. Will check with my neighbor, a CCFD Captain. I would think that the volunteers will stay in place at their station across the street from the NDF station.
  14. I was hoping you could find out which went to each department. I assume that the 25 are all going in to service shortly. Will be a great help this fire season given the drought conditions in CA.
  15. Excellant, saw the video on the new type 3s being built by HME Interesting to see which departments receive them from OES. Some will be for CAL FIRE, as they have built many Type 3s for them in recent contracts. This should be a big help, given the drought and the increased threat of brush fires
  16. In a Dec 2014 article by Alan Petrillo in Fire Apparatus Magzine, Chief Zakaris of CAL OES said the following: Zagaris points out that Cal OES currently has a large fleet spread out around the state. "We have 114 Type 1 pumpers, 15 Type 3 wildland pumpers, 12 Type 1 water tenders, 13 swift water vehicles, 18 rescue system vehicles, six communications units, and a variety of command and other vehicles," he says. "Our Type 1 pumpers built by HME are designed to handle urban, suburban, rural, and wildland situations." I cannot find anything on the OES site or possible truck builders mentioning the 25 Type 3s for OES.
  17. It will be interesting to see if OES buys some new type 3's this year. The original 15 Type 3's were bought in 2007 and assigned as strike teams(5 units): one group in the SanDiego County area inc one at Riverside City Fire another group at L A County Fire, and another in the Bay area They are Int/Rosenbauer models 500GPM OES continues to buy 10 or so, HME/Ahrens Fox Type 1's short wheelbase, 1250 GPM units each year to replace older rigs around the State HME has a long term purchase agreement with OES type 18,and CAL FIRE type 35s
  18. Do you have the assignments of these new engines?
  19. Rescue 51 You are absolutely correct, the expensive engines and aerials (round figures $500,000 and $ 1 million respectively) are being run in to the ground on medicals(75 to 80% of all emergency fire calls) Some more deep thought has to be given to this situation to come up with alternative ways to reduce the wear on these expensive apparatus.
  20. Kyle Canyon is covered by a Clark County call station(81). NDF has a manned station across the road from it. USFS has a station in the forest a mile north or so of the NDF station. A large new development has been announced at the intersection of Kyle Canyon Road and Rte 95. When homes are actually built in the coming years, LVFR will probably get the funding for the station. It might well be developer funded. Also, Station 103 on Upland Blvd is the old station 6, EMS is using the building now. No fire apparatus is there now. The new station 6 was built at CSN in a new fire station/classroom structure completed a few years ago. Most of the proposed stations are on the master plan for future years and not funded at this point.
  21. In today's L V REview-Journal: Las Vegas Fire Department gets $6.2 million grant to open new station By JANE ANN MORRISON LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL The Las Vegas Fire Department received a $6.2 million federal grant to staff and supply Fire Station 108, which is expected to open in August. The Federal Emergency Management Agency grant will pay salaries for two years for the firefighters at the station and pay for a fire engine and ambulance.
  22. GREAT update, thank you E0001
  23. sorry, would not take my format, so disregard the previous post
  24. from my San Diego Fire roster: not perfect because some older units were probably nmoved to less busy stations when the 2012 Rear Mounts were put in to service: the Spartan/LTIs are probably in reserve now? 25. Are these "new" KME engines delivered over a year ago, listed as 2012 or 2013 models? Also, does anyone know who was assigned these engines, other than Engine 43, shown on the previous reply by Monrovia1 I think that the order was for 11 KME engines
