Maybe the only real solution to this is to have Fire Departments provide emergency ambulance transports instead of private ambulances. 

Awesome looking rig and also San Bernardino City had at least one TDA before the County took them over.

One thing for sure I notice is that LAFD is upgrading it's wildland firefighting capabilities with the purchase of their type 3 as well as having OES Type 3's, Water Tenders,  Crew 3 Hand Crews, Dozer Teams, Brush Patrols and of course their helicopters. 

I drove by the LAFD shops yesterday and saw a new Type 3 Engine painted in the LAFD scheme at the shops and it looks awesome and any info on this rig or assignment?

Verdugo Fire has a very excellent numbering system which works well for them such as Burbank being in the Teens and Alhambra being in the 70's.

This is interesting that LAFD is getting their own type 3 and how many type 3's will LAFD be getting besides the 5 OES type 3's that the department currently has?

They would have been very useful at the Castaic incident right now and hopefully they can be delivered and placed in service by October when the Santa Ana's arrive./

Awesome and I couldn't imagine LAFD Heavy Rescue 3 and LA County Heavy Rescue 103 having a rig this size and now more departments seem to be copying the Heavy Rescue Wrecker concept originated by LAFD.
