Bringing this back up from the bottom (and slightly off topic) but....
It appears City of Orange did get a Pierce per South Coast Fire Facebook page

According to Code2High, E64 is quartered with E62 at Station 62

Surprising as SF has purchased many Spartan/Hi-Tech and Spartan ERV over the years.
Now on that note about low bids, surprised KME didn't get the contract (if they did put in a bid)
-
Cancelled the remaining KME's.
Really, that is interesting. Guess LAFD weren't happy?
Kind of odd since KME was awarded the contract in 2013 for 11 more engines (not sure how many were delivered)
-
Just heard from a friend of mine who works at the shops. LAFD an their next bid for apparatus is going back to Pierce. KME's are C**p.
Really, back to Pierce? Now that is just strange. Seems like the consensus that the KME engines were well received.
What is/were the issues with the KME?

Once the bugs where worked out that was actually LAFD problem. Everyone i spoke with likes the KME's for the most part.
So what were the issues with the engines? Did they have something to do with the specs?
-
Yes, the first Pierce is going to St11. I also heard that the other trucks will have white aerial's. To many complaints on the gray color. 11,s are scheduled to receive it next month.
Wonder what the complaints are against the gray color.
Also odd that it got assigned to Truck 11. Truck 9 is (or was) the busiest truck company, you would think this tiller would be assigned there first.

REV Group also owns E-One and 7 ambulance companies including: Wheeled Coach, Road Rescue, Horton and Leader

From the Flickr page, the engine going to Ladder 602 is lettered as a Ladder Tender.
-
I was wondering my self. seams they have been winning fair amount of contracts lately.
Rosenbauer seems to have made some inroads in San Bernardino County (although they seem to go back and forth between RK and KME)
-
Now that is interesting. Thought VNC might have gone with KME as they have bought from in the past.
-
Appears that the merger process started in 2010 and the transition was completed in 2014.
-
Looks like the HAZ MAT is completed. There's a photo of it in a parade in Wi on the Pierce Mfg. Facebook page
-
Looks like Kern County purchased and refurbished an for Las Vegas FD tiller. Anyone know if this is a reserve/spare or for training?
-
The engine actually belongs to the Coral Canyon Fire Safety Alliance. IIRC, they train and are under the command of LA County FS 71.
-
That's interesting. Wonder if these stations are to be merged due to the new Midfield Satellite Concourse Terminal being built.
-
Looks like La Verne T61 is getting a new tiller quint.

LaCo Fire tried to receive 5 more but where told LAFD will be receiving them.
That's interesting. Would have thought LAC would get them as they have no experience with wildland firefighting and operating brush engines.
-
Wonder what changed their minds at LAFD for them to want Type 3 engines.
-
Who build the Brush Patrol? Looks similiar to the old Master Body Works patrol at 47/109.

Wow, that must have been some impact. Guessing Alhambra is out to bid on a new truck?
I wonder if Monterey Park engine had frame and cab damage due to the collision/crash. Appears from the photo there is some body damage as well.
