  1. Federal Brush 16 was part of a Metro Zone Type-3 Strike Team sent Sunday afternoon to the Border Fire.
  2. Not positive, but I think that stands for "Joint Terrorism". LAFD personnel assigned to Homeland Security type duties.
  3. Total of 7 Haz Mat rigs on order. Type-2.
  4. One OES hazmat is gong to San Diego Fire.
  5. Effective July 1st SDFD will staff a Type-3 engine (Brush 57) 7 days a week from 0800-2000 out of the San Diego County Fire Authority Station 84 in the San Pasqual Valley. The unit will be ALS staffed. Existing Brush 33 will be renumbered to Brush 57. OES8631 has been moved from FS5 to FS33.
  6. The only similarities with the engine Alhambra bought and the Riverside County engines is that they are on Spartan chassis and they are red. Otherwise a totally different build up.
  7. There are a total of 3 2015 GMC squads with a standard cab. I am guessing S51 and S88 got the other two.
  8. Not sure on that. I will try and find out.

  10. No. They are replacing the reserve engine which is a 2001 International. The 2005 Pierce Dash will become the reserve engine.
  11. I don't think there are 7, but there was definitely an AF7 listed. Didn't see Stairs 80 on there. Possibly 6 frontline crash rigs and Stairs 80.
  12. Noticed on Pulse Point that the CAD id's changed on the ARFF rigs at LAX. Now listed as AF1 thru AF7. Used to show as CR80 and F180, 280, 380.
  13. Engine 6 and Engine 7.
  14. Ultra XT brush rigs originally assigned to BR14, 29, and 35. BR29 was destroyed after a rollover accident during training. BR35 was then moved to BR43. The Pierce brush rig at 43 was then moved to BR29. Three new brush rigs being ordered.
  15. Not a contract. The City will be completely absorbed into the County Fire Department. Kind of hard to explain. This link has some details that may help make it clear. http://www.sbcounty.gov/uploads/LAFCO/AgendaNotices/20160127/Item_7.pdf
  16. Just noticed construction photos of two Spartan chassis rigs under construction by SVI. Listed as going to Phoenix. Replacement squads? Haz Mat? https://www.dropbox.com/sh/sou7nr6levcu7v7/AABJ3wjEh1WKGd4LiAqR7uhEa/Cab-Chassis?dl=0
  17. CR28 is in service. Ran a call just the other day.
  18. Foam rig is still at Station 28 patked in the bay CR28 used to use. CR28 is parked out back. At least that is the status today. Subject to change as always.
  19. Interesting new engine for Laguna Beach FD. https://www.flickr.com/photos/piercemfg/24432698259/in/dateposted/ Had the opportunity to see it at Firehouse World today. It has a 1000 gpm pump. Don't have the rest of the details. Additional details including cost found at this link... http://lagunabeachcity.granicus.com/MetaViewer.php?view_id=3&clip_id=413&meta_id=31667
  20. That looks to be a 3000 gallon tank on each of those rigs. Based on that LAX will more than exceed the FAA minimum for water. The minimum requirement is .... (e) Index E. Three vehicles— (1) One vehicle carrying the extinguishing agents as specified in paragraphs (a)(1) or (a)(2) of this section; and (2) Two vehicles carrying an amount of water and the commensurate quantity of AFFF so the total quantity of water for foam production carried by all three vehicles is at least 6,000 gallons.
  21. Squad 56 is quartered on Governor west of Regents in a rented home. Station 50 is planned for Nobel and Judicial. Last I heard land acquisition was still in progress.
  22. Good question! They are maintaining at least one transport unit staffed with fire personnel, and contracting with AMR for the rest. Therefore they retain their 201 rights.
  23. Carlsbad, San Marcos, Corona, Rancho Cucamonga, and Redlands all have received brand new Type-3 OES engines. http://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/2015/oct/20/carlsbad-gets-first-state-fire-engine/
  24. 8636 = Corona 8637 = Rancho Cucamonga 8638 = Redlands 8639 = San Marcos 8640 = Carlsbad
  25. By " volunteers" they mean personnel are not forced to work those units/shift. Personnel " volunteer" to work them. No use of volunteer firefighters at the LAFD.
