  1. A Captain from St5 informed me that plans at LAX is a Mega Station. Merging 51 and 95 together and adding another CFR at the new station.
  2. FireGuy, This is what i was told by a Capt at St5. I'M sure i missed a few pieces of equipment. And this is for a standard standby. Not a working incident.
  3. The old rig was a Ford. County had it at the shops trying to fix all the issues with it. Of course this was a few years back.
  4. Last time i saw E271 it was a Pierce. An old El Monte rig i believe. It does have La Co fire dept on the rig.
  5. It may have returned as WT 573 reserve.
  6. St 128 has always had a water tender. Just an older one meaning old 73. So the new Peterbilt is only a replacment.
  7. 2 Task Forces, 2 engines, 2 ALS and 2 BLS RA's BC, USAR5, Crash 80 and 2 Foam rigs. 1 ARF stays availible at St 80. And stair 80 responds.
  8. 80 has been in the current station probably 10 years. And yes it's on the table with future develoments.
  9. My understanding is yes on the two additional Crash Rigs. Also he stated that St80 is also going to move due to expansion. No one knows at this time if E51 will stay that number when they merge. I do not have a time line on this.
  10. My understanding is... Only USAR 88 is receiving a new rig. Since they are the only fully manned USAR with the miles on the rig. Yes it will fit in ST27.
  11. USAR 88 is receiving a new rig. Not sure when. The current USAR will go to USAR 27.
  12. Waterguy, I heard a rumor that LAFD is talking about buying a few type 3 and receiving 5 OES type 3's. Also i heard something about Quints? Tell me that's not true.
  13. I wouldn't say LAFD has no experience with wildland fires. My understanding is upper brace thinks its time for a change and branch out. Waterguy can you fill in the blanks.
  14. LaCo Fire tried to receive 5 more but where told LAFD will be receiving them.
  15. My understanding is.. The first 5 are new OES type 3's.
  16. USAR 130 and 103. At the shops waiting for finishing touchs.
  17. Its easy to say how wonderful a new piece of appartus is or cutting edge over the rest when it hasn't hit the streets yet. Lets wait and see how it performs on its first fire or two when its on a hill and tight turns. ?????
  18. Why did Phoenix stop using the Fed Q? And go with electronic instead.
  19. Horrible design, 6X6 has been in use by LaCo fire for years now. The cab is a trash truck cab with no room inside. The foot print is close to the standard W/T in use. Turning radious will be rediculious. But... time will tell!
  20. I believe Redlands is the first dept in Ca with Rotorays.
  21. RotoRays sweet!
  22. It's only better than nothing if it works! Lots of issues with it so far. You can look at it and see its tail heavy.
  23. Yes, it can respond code 3 if requested. I pearsonaly would not want to drive this rig. No room in the cab and the way it sits a very rough ride. Cab over bad idea!
  24. Waterguy, Are they still talking about putting a second HR in service at 89's possibly. Thanks.
