  5. New Engines Added https://www.flickr.com/photos/piercemfg/28002328395/in/photostream/
  6. Time for LAFD to upgrade the Tractor Pulls for Heavy Equipment group from the first photo to the second. Now HR is a Peterbuilt 567 the Tractor pulls should match.
  7. Additional Video from Pierce of new US&R 88 going up. Looks like an american flag painted on the grill. A first for LAFD. https://www.facebook.com/Pierce/videos/10157016740750527/
  8. Correction, these are currently referred to as Transport 1, 2, 3 in the LAFD CAD system. They are not referred to as semi tractors.
  9. No its not the actual photo. Nothing on order or rfp'ed. I would hope it would look like that excluding the pusher axle but including that HD front axle. More for the look and color.
  10. Pierce was the lowest bidder, only other bidder was KME. 7 triple combination engines awarded in the first order.
  11. 2nd LAFD Tiller done at Pierce. Back to the white ladder.
  12. Video of LAFD picking up the new HR from Golden West Towing https://youtu.be/TW5gJi3-d_I?list=FLBmDeezUC8oyWIBGI5drjvg
  13. I predict sell current reserve, put current rig in reserve. Unfortunately, they don't have enough funding for 2nd HR staff let alone all those companies still not in service since the brown out period a few years ago.
  14. More picutres on Golden West Towing FB page. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.984104938309682.1073741931.323351171051732&type=3
  15. LAFD has a printer at the shops for the striping and lettering. Just like when BP84 came in and was changed to FR201 they can change it with easy. Also the dodge BC's came in with different font and the shops changed it. I won't be surprised if the shops change the HR stripe drop and some of the fonts. It does not cost that much to fix striping and lettering as they have to do it all the time when their vehicles get in accidents. It's not paint but stickers. The ladders are painted grey which is a different process then the striping/ fonts. The grey ladder color is not changing on the first TDA. It will now denote the HD ladders for LAFD hence the reason for the different color painted ladder.
  16. I concur. Need to loose the NASCAR droop race strip. Could be easily fixed with replacing it with a straight stripe on those two doors at the shops. Fingers crossed they fix it. Other than that, new rig looks great.
  17. MCU & USAR? https://www.flickr.com/photos/piercemfg/24594683873/
  18. New RFP was opened end of February. Bids are due beginning of April. We won't hear results until Summer (June/July) at earliest.
  19. Looks like final 2 (#5 & #6) are done. Posted on the Rosenbauer America website here: http://www.rosenbaueramerica.com/whats-new/new-deliveries/10438-39-los-angeles-world-airports

  21. Considering all front line BUR ARFF are Panthers, I'd say they like them. The Stryker is now in reserve status.

  24. Correct this is part of the first order of 4. The last 2 will be about ~6 to 8 months behind as they were ordered in 2015 vs part of the first order in 2014.
