  1. My info is pretty heavily dated (20+ years), but I did volunteer out there as an EMT so it is first hand. I never responded further than Callville to the North and Hoover Dam to the South.

    Station 4 (Boulder Beach):

Engine 4 (Cross Staffed by LE Rangers)

Rescue 4 (Staffed by volunteers. Responded to the entire Nevada side of Lake if staffed. Cross Staffed by LE Rangers after hours or if no volunteers. I think has paid staffing now. Not sure if Contractors or Park employees)

    Station 5 (Callville Bay)

Engine 5 (Cross Staffed by LE Rangers)

Rescue 5 (Cross Staffed by LE Rangers)

    Station 6 (Willow Beach)

Engine 6 (Cross Staffed by LE Rangers)

I think had an Ambulance.....but not sure.

I think now the wildland crews are also now responding to calls if in the district.

  2. I don't know if it is a coincidence or not, but the only Urban Squads I have seen have been at Stations with a second rescue.

Squad 32 is in service and active. They wanted to put a second Rescue @ 32 but did not have the space. Hence the "Squad" with a short body.

These 2 pictured at Fire Trucks Unlimited (I am almost positive the bodies on these 2 "new" units are the bodies from those previously mentioned light rescues), the pictures show them numbered for 18 and 27. Both of those stations currently run 2 Rescues. Maybe the plan is to replace the second rescue with these? County fire does not transport much. It would be a weird coincidence. Unless they are adding a "3rd Rescue" and going this route at those stations.

And....COVID may slow down some of these plans. Even with the Strip reopened, Squad 32 and Rescue 218, and Rescue 227 appear to be out of service with at lease some regularity. Checking Pulse Point as I type, None of those have run any calls since 1100 (1530 right now).

The Las Vegas Motor Speedway of Clark County still uses this 1996 Ford/Horton Ambulance.

Pretty sure this is X Mercy Ambulance/AMR Las Vegas. Lighting setup/vehicle type is exact for what was being used at the end of the Mercy Ambulance days and beginning of AMR taking over.

Mesquite Fire Rescue of Clark County's 1995 Freightliner/Emergency One engine pulling out of the main station for photos. This apparatus was repainted to Red from yellow later in its career. Think this may now be in reserve status.

Retired last year. Replaced with a 2019 Pierce Quantum 1500/750....

It was traded in. I’m not sure where it may now be....

Mesquite Fire Rescue of Clark County's station 2's quarters. Not sure if this house is still active. Mercy Air runs a medical helicopter from here.

Not a staffed station. Only Mercy Air 11 is stationed here.

  6. I believe this rig is now with Mt. Charleston Fire Protection District which split off from CCFD when this rig was being delivered. My guess is this was ordered white, knowing it was going to Mt Charleston who was splitting off. It is E-853 I believe. I think they have gone "All In" on yellow even on staff vehicles. Everyone I have seen in the last 6 months or so is yellow....including some unmarked. BC's are definitely yellow. A2 (Assistant Chief over the Rural area) is definitely yellow. 270 (EMS Supervisor) is definitely yellow. And I have seen some other vehicles I can't identify in news stories that were yellow.

  7. Humbolt General Hospital handles EMS as well as tech rescue in Humbolt County. I believe all of the fire departments up in that area are volunteer. I really don't know much else........

Correct, however, a CCFD Capt told me that they did receive a couple of new squads recently I think that one is at 18, have not seen it on the road as yet

I also think that the Mt Charleston Station received a new engine a few years ago:

    81

    Int

    1500 GPM

    "15

    Mahogany Dr & Yellow Pine,SR 157

    Mt.Charleston

There are definitely exceptions based on area needs (I think the Mt Charleston rig is 4x4 with height issues in the Station). No urban 4x4 engines). I have seen a picture of a rig marked as Squad 32. However its more of an LA County Style Paramedic Squad than what has classically been a squad in Clark County (Type 6 wildland rig). I don't remember where I saw the picture...but it was likely here or FIrepics.net. Appeared they replaced R-232 with the Squad as a peak time unit.....but that is mostly guessing and I have no idea if there are others (ie Squad 18). If I find the pic....I'll link it.

Here are two new engines bought for the Vol stations:

    73

    Ferrara

    1500 GPM

    “10

    3690 Lyman St

    Logandale

    74

    Ferrara

    1500 GPM

    “08

    300 N Moapa Valley Blvd

    Overton

Clark County Stations 72(Moapa), 73(Logandale), and 74(Overton) are in whats called the Moapa Valley Fire District. They are still "Managed" via Clark County Fire, but vehicles are purchased via the Fire District.  That is why they are essentially the only volunteer stations with new rigs. Otherwise most everything is hand me downs. Squads can be an exception cause there aren't any in the Career CCFD stations to hand down, as well as the Tenders, since there is only 1 CCFD career Tender.  Whereas I believe every CCFD Volunteer Station has at least a Squad and most have Tenders.  They just aren't purchased often due to not significant wear and tear at the volunteer stations, so some can be on the old side.

  10. All 14 are on the Pierce Custom Pumper "under construction" site:

    http://www.hughesfire.com/custom-pumper-construction-photos.html

Clark County Fire ordered two short wheelbase engines for specific stations

I doubt that will be the norm on most future CCFD engines

County fire has ordering the short rigs for looks like all stations for a couple of years, starting with E-32.  No County career stations that I am aware of are of is length or height restricted.  I think the old station 20 may have been...but that would have been it.  32 being short wheelbase works out good for the Strip...I'm guessing they just want all the rigs the same.

  11. CCFD has 4 Towers at 11,16,17,18 and a 75' stick at T 22,they pulled the old aerial ladder out of Laughlin

LVFR has 4 Towers and 2 TDAs

    Henderson has 2 Towers

since they all work closely together, that looks like the equipment they will stay with

CCFD gained another station, this one at Mt Charleston when they took over the NDF station across the road from Station 81 (vol)

Went by there two weeks ago,the NDF station had two NDF type 3s in the bays and a CCFD Pierce Quantum on the apron,

Lettered T 4 (must be a training engine ,reserve piece) (FF all were hired as full time CCFD firefighters)  Not sure if CCFD will get to keep those two NDF Type 3s or order replacements

Clark County T16 is also a 75' straight stick.

  12. My guess for the quint was T-16.  They are currently in an older Ferrara 75' quint.  Quite possibly the only non Pierce frontline unit in the County's Las Vegas Valley Fleet.  Although your guess sounds pretty logical as well......
