  8. https://www.fireengineering.com/articles/company-news/2019/08/kme-fire-apparatus-delivers-12-custom-pumpers-and-2-tractor-drawn-aerials-to-los-angeles-county-fire-department.html

  10. SVI building a new HazMat for LVFR. Unit to be delivered in May 2021 Pics are behind a Firewall
  11. Fire was declared out by the Navy yesterday or today. Other bases that responded personnel and equipment were Twenty-nine Palms AGCC, El Centro NAF, Ventura FFD, Miramar , and Camp Pendleton Fire. The navy reported 400 firefighters at scene including military personnel. the Chief of Naval Operations is going to San Diego to inspect the ship, and there are two concurrent investigations underway.
  12. What are the Purpose of the "Paramedic Squad"? I see some of these units are assigned to Urban Stations. Back in the Day a "Squad" was a mini pumper assigned to a rural station, there was a Yankee Light rescue that was for High Angle Rescue but there was only one. Are they replacing transport rescues ? Not a big fan of the Lighting package...cant believe its NFPA compliant...
  13. Who is E924? Fleet reserve, or Adaptive Response?
  14. Funny, what's old is new again, in the Early days of the paramedics CCFD and LVFR used a utility body Squad for their medics
  15. All EMTs and Paramedics get basic Mental Health training, this program is like a number of other Community Paramedicine Program models. All across the country, communities and hospitals are working to get the right tools to the patients keep them out of the ER. In some cases as in Yuma we are working to keep people on their meds and treatment plans. most programs in Arizona are using 1 Paramedic and one Social worker so if a patient needs 211 type help, the social worker can guide and in some cases set up appointments for the patient. The other common practice used is that given the authority, these units can actually perform minor surgery, and prescribe meds to the patient.
  16. Question for the group: 1- Is Goodyear Station 187 still staffed and do they respond west and east of Mobile? 2-who is responsible for Runs north of the city of Maricopa on and off 347, Station 429 Gila River Reservation or Maricopa 3- Who handles Highway 238? Ak-Chin or Maricopa 4- Are they dispatched via Phoenix Fire? Is there Auto aid in Pinal county ? I ask these questions because I take the southern route from Yuma, south of Gila Bend to Sky Harbor and wondered who handles what.
  17. LVFR Just announced they are going to be short OT money due to limited revenue because of COVID. They have a trigger point that will brown out companies instead of paying OT Clark County is doing something similar, CCFD brown outs are fixed, LVFR will rotate brownouts among the 20 Stations. Expect to hear the same from many depts. going forward....
  18. It appears a Quint is running out there now??
  19. Anyone have pics of the new house? Same location?
  20. new pics Well, not new the new station opened in Feb ...
  21. Cool
  22. The inside cab of truck 9 was destroyed. The ladder was likely compromised but did its job staying together to let the guys get out. most of the PPE was destroyed. Its a miracle they were all not killed. I have some picks I'll post when I can. The scene has been turned over to a investigation team of ATF, LAFD and LAPD
  23. The differences could be cost, and I notice the wheelbase is shorter than previous pumpers, maybe they have some access issues in the district or on Strike team assignments. Also just could be a tag on purchase but I don't think so. district is a bit big for that.
  24. Didn't the engine become a type of "system status engine " to roam and fill in where there were holes? Say E41 had a class, 9XX engines would move up to 41s until they got back. I was also told they were to jump on calls where ever they were in the city if available? My info is somewhat dated a few years , they used to be 7XX engines until Buckeye City got a unique ID. feel free to connect
  25. Can someone explain Heartland fire? My impression was that El Cajon, Lakeside and Santee all merged...
