Posted December 5, 2016 Is there a specific target hazard for this unit, or is it just that they have had a CO2 unit for a long time. Just curious. Interesting how departments have their own specialty units , like LAFD Heavy Rescue(utility) LACoFd Foam 10 and FDNY De-watettering unit BTW I am aware SFFD has some other unique specialty pieces. Anyone know what they are?
Posted December 6, 2016 The CO2 unit is at station 13 down in the financial district [ high rise area ] of the City. That area has the highest probability of underground vault explosions and gets called out on them occasionally. Its crossed staffed by members of station 13. Posted December 7, 2016 Doesn't SFFD have a cliff rescue unit, a large hose wagon, and something for pumping from the fireboats in the event of a earthquake?
