Posted August 12, 2016 Within the last several years big departments like New York and Chicago have add at least to the rear of apparatu, blue warning lights. I'm just curious as to if California law will change like it did in NY requiring blue lights to the rear.
Posted August 13, 2016 don't think you will ever see that in California, the chp likes to flex their muscle and let everyone know who is in charge. blue lights on apparatus is very common back east and into the mid west. green is fast becoming another color on rigs in pa. most departments that have roro-rays on their rigs seem to favor the red/white /blue or red / white / green combination

It was not used enroute, but only at the incident. The CHP had a fit and the blue light was removed.
Posted August 14, 2016 If I'm correct, the CHP only enforces laws, they dont make them. So why can't state reps change the law to make apparatus more visible, especially at night. Blue gets your attention. Red blends in with brake lights and stop lights. Every fd agency in Phoenix area has red and blue lights front and rear.
