Posted October 31, 2016 Our North County (San Diego) fire departments are interesting in past equipment purchase, you have Carlsbad with a bunch of Seagraves, and Escondido with some Sutphens (though not sure if either department continues that or has gravitated towards Pierces or KME's). FDNY just ordered 85 more KME engines as part of an existing contract. Seagrave has been and is still popular in California in the past. You do get what you pay for. Seagrave has been doing fine lately, and is positioned themselves more with the individual customer lately then large contracts.
