Posted July 12, 2016 I drove by Pepper Drive & 1st Avenue yesterday, which is I believe is San Diego County proper (though close to the city lines for both El Cajon and the Lakeside Fire District). This was/is supposed to be the new Fs for the old 19's (San Miguel/Cal Fire), which used to be East County Fire. I was seeing all kinds of progress it seemed there, an old house that I thought was being refurbished and to serve for the housing for the FF's. And my guess was they were going to construct a 1-2 bay lower cost structure for the rig(s). At any rate, that entire house was up on a platform, it appeared, to be moved. I am not sure if they are moving the house off the foundation to another location, or just putting it in a better spot on the lot (which seems too expensive a proposition). At any rate, I have no idea if maybe that entire plan for a new Fs there is going south, or what. Unfortunately, San Miguel has been very weak in their website regarding any news releases/updates.
